The echo of laughter and chatty party folk filled Stark Tower as Tony's famous New Year's Eve party was well under way. The host, himself, was seen flitting around between guests with a drink in his hand and wearing the most expensive suit one could buy.

Taking in the extravagance of her surroundings, Katie Banner stepped out of the elevator, her eyes wandering in different directions. By her side was her Uncle Bruce, who happily greeted fellow guests with a warm smile on his face. She followed along behind him, politely saying her hellos as she surveyed the people around her. When a sudden chill ran up her back, she shivered, feeling like someone was watching her. As she moved to look over her shoulder, a familiar voice caught her attention.

"Is that my Katie?"

She turned to see Natasha Romanoff, momentarily forgetting the eery feeling and heading towards her with open arms.

"Auntie Nat!" Katie grinned hugging her tightly.

"You look absolutely stunning." Natasha praised, resting her hands on Katie's forearms. "And this dress! Red is your color!"

"Thank you." Katie replied bashfully, straightening up when she felt the pair of eyes again.

Someone was definitely watching her.

"I always forget how much you've grown up." Natasha gushed. "The last time your uncle brought you to Tony's New Year's party you couldn't have been more than what? Fifteen?"

"Sixteen. And now here I am four years later." Katie replied with a smile before turning and locking gazes with a pair of pretty green eyes.

"You look beautiful." Natasha turned to Bruce. "Mind if I steal your niece for a bit?"

Bruce paused from his conversation with Clint Barton and laughed gently. "Of course."

Just as Katie was about to settle on the man beyond the eyes, Natasha looped their arms and dragged her deeper into the party. As they approached a group standing by the window, one of the men turned, spotting them instantly. As he moved away to greet them, Katie instantly recognized America's hero.

"Is that little Katie Banner?" Steve Rogers grinned with wide eyes.

"She's not so little anymore, huh, Rogers?" Natasha teased, pinching Katie's side.

"You've grown into a beautiful young woman right before my eyes." Steve laughed. "How long has it been since I last saw you?"

"Probably not since the last time Uncle Bruce brought me to Tony's New Year's party four years ago." Katie smiled.
