♦ .

"It's so cold...", the winter breeze hit my bare skin, making me to quickly wrap myself in my arms. The street lights flickered on and off, causing the view down this snowy road to be barely visible. Another nuisance that I didn't want to face right now. My body shivered, as expected with only having a t-shirt on and a thin ass jacket. I sighed, making the air in front of me to form a small cloud of smoke. Despite the cold though, I pushed through the snow. Determined to get to my destination.

As I entered the building, I quickly shook off the snow laying on my shoulders. I'm not a fan of winter.

My boots scrapped against the rug beneath, removing the excess snow. After doing so, I proceeded to walk through the somewhat warm and cozy building. With every step, my foot ever so slightly pained me, thanks to them being frozen cold. "Damn", I cussed under my breath while continuing walking.

"So this is it?", my eyes scanned the door in front of me. Suddenly the beating of my heart quickened a bit. It's not that I'm scared, it's just that...whatever. I sighed while proceeding to open the door ever so slightly. It creaked as I pushed it open, allowing the light to shine through from the other side.

"You're a bit late, aren't you?", that raspy voice brought a tingling sensation through my body. I couldn't help but to scoff at her smart little comment.

"Yea, but when did this become a punctual thing?", I flashed her a smirk while removing the coat off me and throwing it to the couch. Her eyes watched me as I made my way in her direction. "It's crazy cold out, gorgeous. How about warming me up?", all she did was roll her eyes.

"Don't get all gushy with me...I don't even like you", she placed the wine filled glass next to her onto the table.

"Right, you don't like me...because you love me", my hands slithered around her waist, causing a slight tint of red to appear on that gorgeous face. "Don't make me repeat myself", I pulled her closer to me, making our bodies to collide. "Now...let's have se--".

"Yo! It was just getting to the good part!", my voice growled as I looked to my sister who was grinning evilly.

"Why are you watching shows like that? Aren't you a bit too young?", the T.V remote twirled in her hand. My eye twitched at her annoying way of...annoying me!

"Young? Are you kidding me!? I'm already 17!", I angrily stood up from the couch while brushing my hair back. "Aren't you supposed to be at your boyfriend's house or something", I said while walking past her, heading to the kitchen.

She scoffed, "That's none of your business". The tone of her voice irked me a bit but I shrugged it off.

"Damn", I cursed under my breath. Again, there's no meat, as usual. My sister, Wendy, is supposedly the culprit of taking meat out the refrigerator and bringing it to her own house. Don't ask me why she does that, because I honestly don't know myself. She's a strange one.

"Oh yea, I took your meat by the way", she plopped herself onto the couch and stretched her arms out.

"As you always do", I rolled my eyes at her, but thankfully she can't see me doing it. There were a few ingredients in the fridge to make some quick fried rice. I pulled them out and laid them onto the cutting board.

"Y'know...", Wendy titled her head back, "When are you going to stop hanging around those people?". I mentally groaned at the sudden change of topic. Look, I understand her concern and everything, but honestly it shouldn't be her concern.

"What people?", my hand gripped the knife, chopping the onions beneath me.

"Don't act dumb. You know what I mean Y/N", she said with a stern voice.

I stopped cutting and looked up at her. "Look sis", my hands wiped onto the apron, "I know what I'm doing. If I feel something isn't right, I'll get out of it. Trust me". Carefully, I pushed the onions to the side and grabbed the carrots, preparing to cut them.

"Y/N!", her voice raised, "Those people aren't good people! When is that gonna stick to your little thick skull!". Again I looked up, seeing that her hands were gripping tightly onto the couch.

I'm not sure how my sister found out about me being in a gang, but she did. Ever since then she would always nag to me about leaving. To be truthfully honest, I'm actually trying to get out the gang, but it's not that easy. I don't know if it's just an American thing or what, but these folks don't talk with their words. They talk with fists. How cliche, I know.

Letting the words of my sister to sink in, I continued cutting my ingredients quietly. Noticing my silence, she decided not to speak another word as well.

"Here", I set the bowl of fried rice in front of her.

"T-thanks", she nodded while looking down at the food. "When did you learn to cook though?", a confused expression appeared on my sister's face.

I shrugged, "Watching youtube videos".

Her mouth formed into a 'o'. Not speaking another word, she snapped her chopsticks in half and dug into the fried rice. I looked at her with a smirk on my face before digging into my food as well.

I'm determined to drink 3 bottles of apple cider in one sitting.
