The woman entered the office signing in her kids due to them being earlier than usual, the woman left the pen on top of the signing in n' out paper and made her way to the door, "Oh gosh! Thank goodness you are here!" The curly haired man said feeling relief even his tone said it, the lady stopped and rolled her eyes, she recognized the man's voice. She turned around and faked a smile, "Hey." She said trying to seem nice, she felt embarrassed seeing the Principal Morris due to what her therapist told him, she also didn't like being recognized by anyone she dislikes or hates.
"Our second Hall Monitor couldn't make it today! She called in saying she was super sick!" The principal informed, "Yeah, yeah good for you." She said not listening to the principal's words, she stepped out of the school's doors, she turned, "Y'know I should really get home." She remarked trying to seem nice, "You don't understand! We need a second hall monitor!" The principal grabbed the woman's arm, she stopped and looked at him, "Why don't you find someone else!" She suggested feeling angry as she pulled her arm away from his touch, she looks into the distance, she saw her car otherwise her exit ticket out of Hell.
"Please, we tried to call everyone who can replace the second hall monitor but nobody was available for today." The principal explained, she looked down thinking on what to do, "Come on, you know how horrible I am with kids that are not mine." She explained trying to leave, "Look, I really want to go home and relax." The woman said being honest with him as she then resumed walking back to her car. "We'll pay you 35 dollars an hour?" The man teased a bit, the lady stopped and turned, "35 dollars an hour?" The woman repeated raising a brow, the man nodded quickly.
"Can you give me a minute?" The woman asked, the principal once again nodded and backed up, "This has to be some trick, I should just go home and relax. But what if he isn't lying, I wouldn't be able to get the money!" The woman said starting to overthink things way too much, she started to feel drained out which also made her feel overwhelmed, she pulled out her phone, "Siri, heads or tails?" "Tails." "Fuck." The woman said a bit aggressively, she took a deep breath and made her way to the principal, "I'll do it." She sighed giving up, "Thank you so much Kathy!" The principal said shaking hands with her, "Yeah no problem." She responded awkwardly.
Principal Morris' Office & Elementary School, Wednesday 6:45 AM.
It had been 20 minutes, the principal claimed they were waiting for something, while Kathy had no idea what "something" was or meant. She jiggled her left leg feeling impatient, she had her head rested on her right hand that was formed into a fist. "I'm sorry but, WHAT THE FUCK ARE WE WAITING FOR?" Kathy snapped shouting and gripping harder on the chair with her left hand, "We're waiting for your helper!" The principal smiled innocently, "Wait, you never said I had a helper, WAIT WHO IS IT-" Someone swung the principal's door open, "Sorry I'm late." The red curly haired said placing her hair behind her ear, "You've got to be fucking kidding me." Kathy said underneath her breath, "Wait, why is she here?" She asked pointing at Kathy.
"Helen and Kathy, you both will be working together for today, you'll also be helping each other out." The principal placed his hands on Helen's shoulders, "What!" They both said with an aggressive tone in in their voices, he pushed Helen out of the office then it was Kathy, "Wait! It's too soon!" Kathy said gripping harder onto the wall trying not to let go, "Please Kathy! Please!" He begged as he finally managed to get her out of the office, "Helen, show her around the school for the time being." The principal suggested with a smile on his face, he shuts the door.
They both looked at the door for a few seconds, then they both gave each other an angry expression, Kathy crossed her arms looking away. Helen gave out sigh, giving a sign she was tired of this nonsense, it kind of got Kathy's attention but at the same time did not really. At this time Helen knew it was time for her to talk first, "Look." She started, "I don't want to lose my job because of this," She continued, Kathy looked at her a bit, "All the hatred that we have for each other, I don't want anything close to it for today, or at least around the principal." She paused looking at her megaphone, "After this, you can go back to hating me and whatever else you think about me, I'm just asking you to be, friendly? Just for today."
