Chapter Five

"Principal Weatherbee wanted me to tell you that you have to join the River Vixens because we're down a few people. It's a cheerleading squad" said Cheryl.

"Okay sure. Is that all?" I asked.

She hesitated and parted her gorgeous hair to the side.

"Yeah" she said.

"But do you want to talk about other stuff?" I asked.

"Toni...don't make me throw up my lunch" she said.

"I'll admit Toni. You're pretty, but I don't-"

"You are too" I said slightly blushing.

"So you're crushing on me" said Cheryl.

"Maybe" I said smiling.

She bit her lip and said "Well I'll see you later. Bye now."

I think I'm starting to crush on her but then again I don't mind that much.

I went back to lunch and sat down with the Serpents and ate Fangs' sandwich and went to my next class.

It was time for Vixen practice but on my way to the locker room, I ran into Jughead.

"Toni."

"Yeah what do you need?" I asked.

"Betty told me that you have a crush on Cheryl. Is that true?" asked Jughead.

She must've been in the bathroom while Cheryl and I were talking or outside listening. I couldn't just lie to him, but then again Betty had proof.

"Yeah..." I said.

"Okay cool" he said.

"Really? You're fine with that?" I asked.

"Toni I'm not a homophobe. Besides she's not even my girlfriend so yeah I'm chill with that. Bye" he said walking over to the boys locker room.

"Hey Toni" said Veronica as I walked in.

Veronica, Betty and I had gotten closer since Cheryl hadn't been talking to me that much other than today. I already was close with Betty since I saw her a lot during summer break.

"What's up?"

"I hear someone has a little crush" said Veronica smiling.

"Betty" I said whining.

"It's fine. I think it's cute. Besides I'm getting a hint that she likes you too" said Betty.

I shrugged and changed into my uniform and went into the gym.

"We're just waiting on Cheryl to start" said Betty.

"Okay."

She walked in and looked over at the group and then turned around and walked back into the locker room.

"I'll go see what's up" said Veronica.

The Vixens all waited patiently for Veronica to come back with Cheryl and sat down on the floor talking.

"What do you thinks up with her?" asked Betty.

"Maybe she left something in the locker room" I said.

"Ha. I think she'd be back by now Toni. I'll go check" said Betty leaving.

Well Betty left me in an awkward situation with no one to talk to, but I guess I could say I was used to at some point.

I saw Betty coming back and I stood up and walked over to her.

"Well? What is it?"

"Let's go over to that corner" said Betty pointing to the other side of the room.

"Why over here?" I asked.

"Well Veronica is trying to get Cheryl to chill the hell out" said Betty.

"Why?"

She laughed and said "Oh Toni, you're clueless."

"Okay okay I get it. Just tell me already" I pleaded.

"Toni she walked away because of you" she said.

"What the hell I didn't do anything to her" I said.

"No you didn't do anything" said Betty.

"Okay Betty, I'm literally going to kill you just tell me" I said.

Betty laughed again and then stopped.

"She can't get out until you get another Vixen uniform" she said.

"Why not?" I asked.

Betty stood up and walked me out of the gym and took me into the locker room where Veronica and Cheryl were.

"Betty you're not making this any better" said Veronica.
