"Cheryl. I don't know how you cry and still look pretty."
"What do you want Ethel" I said strained.
"I wanted to see if you were okay. I heard that you got the-"
"Okay so what if I did Ethel. What's it to you to see if I'm alright?" I asked.
"Cheryl. I'm telling you this because I want to help you. You have to get out of here before 3 weeks pass" she said.
My head started to hurt so I lied down on my bed and listened.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because the poison in your body will have spread everywhere. In a few days, you'll probably get a fever. Maybe a day or two after that, you might throw up. By the next week, you won't be able to eat. And by the third week, you'll be in so much pain you'll try to kill your self. And don't deny that you won't try. Everyone's tried before" she said.
So I was living out a death sentence. That's just fantastic.
"What if I do get out before 3 weeks pass?" I asked.
"Whoever's rescuing you. Don't let them take you home. You have to go straight to the hospital. So you can get better."
So all I have to do is just wait for my possible impending death. I'm supposed to sit here and start dying or die if Toni even comes in time.
"Thanks Ethel" I said as she left the room.
I heard an old voice coming from the loudspeakers and it said "lunchtime!"
I went into the cafeteria and Ethel walked up to me again.
"Cheryl do you know what color the poison was?" she whispered.
"Yeah it was purple. Why?" I whispered.
"Cheryl you can't drink any water today. Don't do it. Apparently that one's supposed to be the worst one. It advances the fastest. The chemicals in it don't mix with water. So for the first day don't drink water okay?" She whispered.
"Okay" I whispered.
I took a small sandwich and sat alone on a bench. I wanted Toni. I wanted her to come back like she did almost immediately after I was sent here for the first time. But she wasn't here.
I finished my sandwich quickly and then went outside. I felt the cool breeze but I felt like running with it. I wanted to run far away. But I couldn't.
And then I looked out onto the street and saw someone on a motorcycle. Pink hair flowing down her back with a shiny black leather jacket. And pinned to the back of her motorcycle was a small sign. The words painted in a very vibrant red.
They said "I love Cheryl Blossom."
It was Toni. She went right past me, and didn't look. And I heard a very loud noise.
I was never one of those people who said to others that had a motorcycle "You're going to get into a crash." I didn't feel the need to.
But I didn't even have to look. I don't even think I'd have to hear the noise of wheels screeching and a huge loud crash of metal colliding. I had a feeling that something had happened.
And it did. Toni was in a motorcycle accident. And police officer from the Sisters of Quiet Mercy were speaking about it.
"A 16 year old girl swerved off the road, drove into the side of the bridge, and was hit by a car. Because she couldn't bear the pain of knowing her girlfriend was suffering."
