Cold Words ☠ [Edward Elric x Reader]

Chapter 1: First Encounter.

"Today's the big day, huh Al? We've been waiting for this day for so long.." Edward said eagerly. "Ugh, damn colonel. He said we have to do a quick job before we can take the day off."

"What's the job, brother?" Al asked curiously.

Edward picked up the handwritten note that Colonel Mustang gave them.

"Well, he said there's some alchemist we have to take care of. Apparently he has been using alchemy to hurt people within and inch of their life, and then just leave them there to die?!" Edward said angrily and confused. "Come on Al, let's take care of this."

"You don't think it will interfere with our plans, right?

"Nah, it shouldn't. If we can take on the homunculi, I'm pretty sure we can handle some alchemist. So let's get going, the alchemist is about 20 minutes away from here."

When the got there, something felt off. It was a little town, a very poor one. The houses they had were made from logs, and the floors were dirt. Some people didn't even have houses, they just had some grimy old tents lying around. When they arrived, the sky got very dark, almost like it was about to storm. Out of no where, they heard a chuckle.

"Ohh. I see. So you two are the state alchemists sent to try and kill me? That's just pathetic! They sent a short child!" He started laughing uncontrollably.

"I'M NOT SHORT! WHO YOU CALLING SHORT? HUH IS IT ME? GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEAD!" he yelled.

"Yeah yeah. How 'bout with get this over with so I can get on with my life."

"Al, be careful. He might be more trouble than we thought."

And with that, Edward put his hands together and the fight began. Although it was a tough fight, Edward and Al still won with little damage done. Edward was a little bloody, but they did their job.

"Hey Al, do you think we should explore a little? Something is really sketchy with this town.. but I can't put my finger on it."

"Ok brother, but don't forget our plans for later." Al said.

"I won't Al, don't worry so much about it," he said.

Ed and Al went inside almost every building and tent, inspecting each and every one.

"Brother, I think we've searched every single tent and home in this town.. " he said politely.

"Hey look Al, there's one more. Let's check it out. This one looks.. different from the other ones. More.. gloomy and dark." he murmured.

The house was made out of logs, and it was rotting very badly. The smell was very foul, and there were bugs everywhere. They went inside to see if there was anything there.

"It smells so bad in here! But then I also smell.. blood? Al there's someone else in here!"

"Really? Let's find the person then," he said.

The house is very small, and the scent was strong so it wasn't long until they found you.

"Al, she's still breathing. What should we do? We can't just leave her.." Edward stated.

"She can stay with us, brother!"

"Why does she look so familiar..?" he starts touching your (h/c) hair. "Have I met you before?" he whispered to himself.

"Wait, brother! If we take this girl home and tend her injuries, then that means are plans for today will be -" Al got cut off.

"Our plans can wait Al! We'll just have to wait another six months.. Now come on, let's take her home," he said as he gently picked you up. You started to open your eyes.

"W-What are you doing.." you whispered.

"Don't talk! Just try to sleep ok? You need rest."

"B-But I n-need.." and you fell back asleep in his arms.
