So on with the story
Ps, sorry long chapter
~ Lord Starscream

"Starscream, if you make one more pun about bugs, I'm going to stab you through the eye."

"Oh Bumblebee, those words truly left a sting in my spark. I thought you liked the buzz you got from my jokes?"

Bumblebee was one astrosecond away from socking the seeker in his smug snout.

Bumblebee knew the moment Optimus paired the two dragons, he was in for a painful search. It turns out he was wrong. It was agonizing.

Optimus had instructed Bumblebee to scout out the top floors of Sumdac Tower with Megatron's Second in Command, clearly ignoring the fact that Bumblebee wanted absolutely nothing to do with the snarky seeker. Of course, using the small human elevators were out of the question, meaning reaching the topmost floors of the sixteen story tower was not going to be an easy task. Climbing up hundreds of spiral stairs in the dark corridor was certainly not how Bumblebee wanted to spend his night, but there was no way on Cybertron he was hitching a ride for Starscream to fly them all the way up there being carried bridal style.

Not that Sari would let him go near the seeker even if he wanted to.

"Shove an engine in it, Screamer!" The human girl said from atop Bumblebee's back, "Or we'll give you a sting you'll never forget!"

"Oh I'm shaking in my boots, human." Starscream smirked down at her, "Perhaps we should toss her out the nearest window, Bumblebee. I, for one, would relish the thought of ridding ourselves of expendable company."

Sari's glare could have melted steel. Bumblebee had to resist the urge of slapping Starscream's face, he could see from his peripheral vision that the seeker was staring right at him.

Sumdac Tower, despite being on of the most technologically enhanced buildings in the city of Detroit, had poor lighting in its stairwell. The dark, silver walls encasing the tall, spiral staircase within were only able to be seen from the small, yellowish orb lights occurring only perhaps every fifty steps as the two dragons and the human made their climb. The stairs themselves were not much better. Bumblebee swore he heard cracks every twenty steps and that, though the steps were heavy, cement blocks, they would buckle under his weight at any moment.

Not to mention, said steps were constructed for human use of course, meaning the stairs themselves were narrow in length. Plus that pesky safety railing was beginning to get on Bumblebee's nerves by about the fifth time he stubbed his claw trying to avoid it. He made sure to stay within its parameters however, since Bumblebee could not even see the bottom of the stair well when he peered over the edge, his bright blue eyes were simply met with a deep, black void of darkness that hid the rest of the spiraling stairs they had already climbed from his view, save for the little yellow lights that he could make out every now and then, illuminating the cylindrical space they were trapped in.

It was overall pretty creepy in Bumblebee's opinion. Even Sari got slightly unnerved by the echoing sound of their footsteps reverberating off the walls in the dim lighting.

"Uh, Bee?" Sari asked in a small voice, wrapping her arms tighter around his neck, "How much longer do you think it'll take to reach the top?"

Bumblebee peeked over the railing again, being careful so as not to dislodge Sari from his shoulder, and glanced upward.

Only more and more and more stairs.

Bumblebee groaned, "Plenty more stairs left to go. Sorry, Sari."
