Hey peaches~ Long long looonnggg (hehe) chapter update due to the timeframe.
The light rapping on the door sounds and I turn to face my visitor. The soft face I've come to know as Hoseok steps in. "Hey" He says lightly. I lean my broom against the wall and wave back. "Hi".
"Boy troubles?" He asks. "Um, I guess that could be one name for it. I'm assuming you basically know what happened?" He nods and comes to sit on the floor next to me.
"Well I mean most of it. I don't really know which reality became true, but I can assume that you told him that it was a fake hate."
"Do you think that that was the right thing to do? I mean, I helped him channel the power better but, I just. Don't feel right about it." I say, and he makes a so-so motion with his hand, drawing one of his knees up towards him.
"Your intentions were in the right place, but. It's not your fault really. You don't know hardly anything about old Jimin. You were friends for so long and you know him, the him that he is now. But he came from another high aristocrat family, like you."
"But what does that have to do with this?"
"Well his father believed that tradition was for the garbage when it came to waiting for the inner to trigger its own release. When Jimin was away for weeks at a time with his father, starting at age ten, he was really being treated in the worst conditions. His father beat him and piled a horrifyingly large amount of work on him and for reasons unknown, he somehow found a way to hide it from you. You were such a light in his life Jess, he knew what his father was doing and yet he never let his inner to release. He even suppressed it once."
The silence fills in the space after his words as he lets me process. That I may have been one of the only ones to witness him happy, and keep him that way.
"Remember that once when he almost drowned?"
"yes, but were you friends with him then?"
"I knew him, but he never came to me for support or anything. I wasn't looking for what happened, but if I could have foreseen it, I would have done everything in my power to stop it, no child should have gone through what he did."
"What happened, I thought he just fell off the bridge on accident."
"No that's not what really happened. His father had been attempting to bring him to the brink of death by drowning and he would only bring him out of the water once he had been knocked unconscious. He was only about fourteen then. He told me that he had felt the release trigger, but he was somehow able to stop the flow of it somehow within him, all because he didn't want to have to be kept from you. He was allowed to be in school and have human friends as long as he was still human and mortal."
"This is awful and don't get me wrong, I appreciate you sharing this with me. But shouldn't you have let Jimin tell me this? It doesn't seem to really relate to what happened today."
"Well, it does. You see, when he was sixteen and you got in that big argument and he left school for a fancy nice one, along with changing his whole physique in general. That was when he changed and was no longer allowed to be around you. He had tried to let you go easily but he couldn't let himself do it, it hurt him too much. He was sent to where you should have gone for college, but your parents couldn't convince you. Anyways, he was trained rigorously by the school and still continued being trained by his father as well."
He takes a small break, eyes glazing over with past pain. Tears start to flow down my cheeks and I start uncontrollably sobbing. A sharp pain fills into every hole of my being and I start emotionally clawing for a release. I look down at my arm and rip my hand away from his. Touching his arm must have made the emotion all the stronger. The pain evaporates but the hot tears still linger on my cheeks.
