Kenpachi Zaraki x Reader (Fanfiction)

Chapter 4

"Keep it down she's recovering."

"Zaraki-taicho you can't fight her she's injured!!"

"Just one battle!"

You groaned out at the number of voices echoing through your head.

"Damn.....everything hurts.." your eyelids felt heavy. With furrowed brows your eyes opened slowly.

"A-Ah, she's waking up Ken-chan!" you grunted. "Ken-chan...?"

When your eyes finally opened you made out a couple blurry figures leaning over you. Rubbing the sleep out of your eyes you looked up. You shifted back at the olive eye that was staring at you intensely. "Z-Zaraki-taicho!!" you gulped using the sheet as a defense trying to get further away from his gaze. Kenpachi grinned down realizing you had finally woke.

"You're scaring her Zaraki-taicho." Isane scolded trying to push him away from your bed. You calmed down a bit when you saw he was a good distance away. Yachiru was smiling happily.

"It's good to see you're okay Kido-chan!" your head titled in confusion. "K-Kido-chan?" you questioned at the weird nickname. Yachiru nodded. "You took down all those hollows with just kidos, your a kido master!!" she exclaimed.

"Those hollows...." your eyes widened looking around the room for Yuki. "Where is Yuki!!" you asked urgently straightening up to get out of bed. You groaned when Isane pushed you back down softly. "She's fine, focus on yourself. You need to recover, you almost died (L/N)-san."

When you were laying back you noticed the bandages that were covering your body. Both your arms were thoroughly wrapped in gauze, as well as your legs. You were wearing a white robe you knew all too well. Patients that you tended to, usually wore this attire when they were in recovery.

"What happened?" you asked curiously.

"You defeated four hollows on your own, even faced off with Kenpachi." your head turned when you heard Unohana and Jushiro enter.

"I-I fought with Kenpachi!?!" your heart thumped when you chanced a look at him, gaining a demonic smile in return.

"S-Shit h-he's gonna kill me!!!" you were internally panicking at the aura that was seeping from his body as he stared at you breathing creepily.

Isane sweatdropped. "Zaraki-taicho, please stop scaring our patient." she sighed.

"W-Wait a minute, why did I attack Zaraki-taicho? " Unohana gave you a once over.

"You were fighting unconscious. That hollow really gave you a scare it seems, you thought we were a threat and attacked to protect Yuki." You listened to your captains words feeling guilty.

"I-I'm sorry taicho..." you stammered. She raised a hand shaking her head. Jushiro smiled.

"You don't have to apologize (Y/N)-san. You were incredible on the battlefield. Even with your injuries you were still fighting to protect your friend. You reached a feat of power none of us could imagine." you flushed at his compliment looking down at your hands, playing with your fingers nervously.

"Enough with the praise, when can we fight." Kenpachi questioned impatiently. You flinched at his question. "T-There's no way I'm fighting you again!!" you said crossing your hands in front of your body.

Kenpachi smirked moving closer. "Is that so?" You cower back when he rested his hand on the bed leaning forward. You blushed at the close proximity. His face was literally a few inches away from you. You gazed at the scar going down his left eye, and the eye patch on his right.

You blinked just staring. "U-Up close he's kinda..."

"We'll see about that!" Kenpachi declared. You just stared for a few seconds until you registered his words.

"H-HUH!?!" Kenpachi moved back turning to leave. Yachiru jumped onto his shoulder. "See ya Kido-chan!!"

"H-Hey I'm serious I-I'm never-" and just like that he was gone. A bead of sweat ran down your head. "Damn it...now I'm going to have to watch my back every waking second."

Isane give a sympathetic smile. "I'm sorry about him, he gets really excited when he meets someone he can fight." you sighed. "I know, that's why I always avoid squad eleven."Jushiro chuckled. "You should take it as a compliment." You giggled. "I guess you're right."

All heads turned when the door suddenly flew open. "Y-Yuki!" you gazed at the blond's panting formed leaned against the wall. When her eyes caught sight of you, she pitched forward diving into your chest. You crashed back into the pillows with a groan. "W-what's the big idea..." you forced out a bit pained. When you felt wetness against your robe you looked down.

"Y-You're okay.....I'm...so glad.." she sobbed out muffled by your clothing. Your eyes softened patting her head softly. "Don't cry, it's alright I'm okay. "

Jushiro and the others smiled at the lovely scene. 

"Arigatou..(Y/N)." you heard Yuki mumbled leaning into your chest. You smiled. 

"You're welcome Yuki.."
