Kenpachi Zaraki x Reader (Fanfiction)

Chapter 10

Kenpachi briefed you on what Head captain sent the both of you to do. "Hollows appearing isn't exactly a strange occurrence. Especially since Ichigo and his friends have such prominent spiritual pressure."

"I don't care why they're here. As long as I get a good fight I'm getting this done."

"You said that already.." you muttered. "What was that?" you sputtered at the glare he directed at you. "N-Nothing!!" Yours eyes moved down avoiding his stare. "He could at least pretend to care.." You couldn't think about much since the hotspring incident. "H-He was the one that kissed me first...that must mean he feels something for me right?" 

You weren't sure what to think anymore. Kenpachi didn't even try seeking you out after. Maybe he just wasn't interested. No sane guy would push a woman away from them in that circumstance. Maybe you just weren't appealing enough for him. The more you thought about it, the more depressed you felt. Your hand moved to clench your chest. 

"It hurts..."

A single tear ran down cheek.

"Ah, so you need to Gigais! I'm always happy to help." Kisuke Urahara,  as you just found out said excitedly. While he was walking into the store, he gave a glance in your direction. "I've never seen you before, is it your first time in Karakura Town?" 

You blinked. "Y-Yeah it is. Karakura is really beautiful." Kisuke smirked. "Not as beautiful as you~" you blushed at the comment, fidgeting with your fingers. "T-That's really nice of you to say, t-thank you." you mumbled. Kisuke chuckled at your cute reaction. "So adorable, it's my pleasure." Kenpachi was walking behind the both of you with a deep frown. 

"Just hurry up and get us the Gigais." Kenpachi ordered. You turned at him in confusion. 

"Why is he suddenly so bossy.." you ignored it following Kisuke.

"Don't worry about him Kisuke, take your time." you advised, linking your arm with Kisuke's. Kenpachi looked a bit surprised at the action. "I might as well enjoy the company of someone who actually appreciates me." Kisuke smiled. "Such a darling." he said as he moved to get what you needed. Kenpachi growled under his breath.

After you both got the Gigais, you stretched and flexed, astonished. "These Gigais are amazing Kisuke!" you praised. They really were. You were dressed in a pair of shorts and a dark tank top. Kenpachi was wearing a dark blue jeans with a black t-shirt. You tried your hardest not to drool at how attractive he looked. "S-So cool.." 

"Thank you, but if you get in a pinch, use these to get out of the bodies." Kisuke's words snapped you out of your daze. You nodded, taking the bottle with small pills from his hand. He gave Kenpachi one too. 

"Thanks again Kisuke." He grinned. "It's my pleasure. " When you were about to leave, he stopped you. "Do you guys have anywhere to sleep, it's getting dark soon. You can't go running around aimlessly all night. " Your eyes opened in realization.

"Now that I think about it, we don't. We didn't really plan to stay more than a day, but nothing has showed up yet." Kisuke pulled out his fan. "You can stay here for the time being, until your mission is complete. " Your eyes lit up. "Really!?" Kenpachi took a hold of your wrist. 

"We'll be fine." You stared  as he tried to pull you along. Your smiled dropped.

"What are you-" you pulled your hand back roughly. "I'm.." your hands moved to your chest. 

"I-I'm staying!" you barked. Kenpachi look like he didn't expect your response. The both of you stared down each other for a few seconds. Your gaze didn't falter. Kenpachi turned away. "Whatever." he said uninterested.

You watched with wavering eyes as he left, shutting the door harshly behind him.

Your hands lowered at your side. You just stood there, eyes welling up with tears.

"Stupid Zaraki-taicho.." you sighed. You jumped when you felt a hand on your shoulder. Kisuke gave your shoulder a comforting squeeze. "Sorry about that, I noticed the air was a bit thick between you two. I thought if I teased him a little it would help, but it seems like I made things worse for you." you gazed at him.

"S-So what you said earlier, i-it was just to rile him up?" somehow you felt worse. Kisuke shook his head. His hand moved from your shoulder, to your cheek, wiping the stray tear that fell.

"I meant what I said before. Kenpachi should be careful, if he doesn't watch out, someone might just steal you away." You flushed at his words. When Kisuke smiled at you softly, you returned it. "Thank you for trying to help. It's sorta my fault though, of all the people I could have loved, I picked him." Kisuke laughed loudly at your statement. 

"Love is rarely ever logical." you nodded in agreement. "It really isn't."Your eyes shifted to the door again. "Do you think....he'll come back?" Kisuke nodded. "He will, he's under the impression that I'm trying to take you away from him. He won't stay away for long." You eyes filled with hope. "Okay, I guess I'll just have to wait." Kisuke stepped back taking your hand. 

"Let's get you settled in until he returns."

"Hai!"
