Niall: You started cutting way before you and Niall had met. Your parents had always chose your older sister over you because according to them, you were a mistake. You were never good enough for them. At school you were the girl who sat in the corner alone. Cutting was your only true friend. The one who was there whenever you needed it. The one you could rely on. That was until you met Niall. The day he asked you to be his girlfriend, you knew you finally had someone there for you. It was a feeling you never experienced before and you loved it. So the cutting stopped. You finally felt like someone wanted you. Tonight Niall had decided to treat you to a lovely night together, just the two of you. He had just gotten off a 4 month tour and all he wanted was some one-on-one time with you. You two had decided to have a small midnight picnic in the small abandoned park just a couple blocks from your flat. You two set up the small blanket in a small opening next to a little pond. Since there was no people, it was peaceful and made the moment more special. After you two had finished eating and taking in each other’s company, you were now lying next to each other as close and possible and looking up and the somewhat cloudy sky. “This was one of the best nights of my life,” Niall sighed, stroking your arm up and down. “It really was,” you replied, snuggling up to him even more if that was even possible. “I love you so much (Y/N). I don’t want this moment to end.” “Me neither Ni.” He turned his head so it was easier to kiss you. The kiss got intense and he flipped your body so he was on top of you with your arms pinned above your head. He pulled away and smiled at you, resting his forehead on yours. He pulled away and his gaze was suddenly averted to your arms that were still above your head. “What are those?” he asked, getting a confused look on his face and sitting up. You automatically knew what he was talking about and sat up, looking guilty. “I know that face, that’s your guilt face. What are these? Tell me the truth.” “Th-they’re old Niall. I swear. I haven’t done it in a long time.” “You haven’t done what in a long time?” he asked, his voice getting more nervous. It was like he knew the answer but needed confirmation. “C-cut…” you stuttered out. Niall pulled away from you and sat up with his head in his knees. “I can’t believe I didn’t notice sooner…” he whispered to himself, but loud enough for you to hear. “I didn’t want you to find out! The reason they’re there completely ruined my life Niall! I didn’t want to relive that experience! It was the only thing that helped me escape…” He looked up from his knees. You had never told him about the abuse you went through as a teenager. It was so painful. “Why wouldn’t you tell me?” “Because Niall, I knew you’d overreact.” ‘Princess… I only do this because I love you… So much. Whoever hurt you that bad doesn’t deserve your tears. You don’t deserve the pain he caused you. But now that you’re with me, nobody will ever lay a harmful finger on you again.” Your eyes were full of tears when he finished and you didn’t know what to say anymore. So you didn’t. You slid closer to him and wrapped your arms around his neck. His arms snaked around your waist and he sighed into the crook of your neck. “Scars or no scars, you’ll always be beautiful to me.” You buried your face more into his shoulder. “I love you Ni,” you whispered, not quite yet trusting your voice. “You mean the whole world to me (Y/N). I love you so much, you don’t even know.” At those words, it was like every ounce of stress left your body. Just being in his presence would calm you down and it wasn’t the end of the world. Everything was going to be okay.
