Chapter 9
It was Jake. Either I was seeing things or it really was him. I really hoped it was the second one.
"Jake?" I asked again. My eyes wide, I stood up face to face with him.
"Yes." His face was straight. No emotion. I was starting to worry if maybe he had forgotten me or...I don't know. I hope he didn't forget about me. Nothing would be more worse than him forgetting me.
"How-how are-" his lips landed on mine breaking my sentence. I didn't skip a beat when I started to kiss him back. My arms went around his neck and his hands want to under my butt to hoist me up to wrap my legs around his waist. I felt him turn around and sit down on the couch with me on his lap and legs off to the side of him. I pulled back. He went to kiss me again but I stopped him.
"How-h-" he stopped me, but with his finger against my lips this time.
"Are you really going to ruin this moment?" He removed his finger and smirked at me.
I smirked back. "Yes. Yes I am. How is it that you're still alive?" I asked with all seriousness.
He sighed. "Fine. I will tell you the short version. Remember that day back in the alley when I got shot?" I nodded, pleading him to continue. "Well the guy didn't have good aim. He shot me around my stomach area and I went unconscious. A few hours later, or days, weeks, whatever, I woke up. I woke up in a hospital, the spot where the guy shot had a huge bandage over it. I assumed they did surgery. And here I am now. With you." He put on a small smile.
"Why did y-" he stopped me with a peck on my lips.
"Stop with the questions. We can continue it later." I smiled, it wasn't an overjoyed smile, but it was a real one nonetheless.
"Okay." And so we went back to kissing and everything was just dandy until...
"Are you kidding me? You're supposed to be dead!" John had yelled from behind us, on the floor, where he lay unconscious minutes ago. I quickly got out of Jakes lap and on to the spot next to him on the couch. I looked to my left to notice that the boys from earlier had left, as a matter of fact, everyone had left. Not as in everyone in the club, but like everyone that was on this couch before.
"John you're drunk man, you don't know what you're talking about."
"Of course I know what I'm talking about! I can see what's in front of me." He slurred. I panicked. If John knew then he would tell the whole group and then...oh gosh.
"Jake we have to go." He looked at me with sincerity then nodded. He took my hand and we headed towards the door. Thankfully John didn't follow us. When we made it outside I took several deep breathes. Running was not my thing, and neither was fast walking. Jake suddenly pulled me into a hug. A hug. Who really does that anymore? Apparently my Jake does.
"I've missed you so much Alexa. Ever since I got shot and woke back up I've been thinking about you. I love you." He pulled away to look into my eyes. "You know that I still love you right?"
"Jake...?"
"Yes?" His voice and eyes held concern
"After the whole group thought that you were dead, they sent me to-to-"
"I know. I know. I'm sorry." He pulled me into a hug again and I started crying. I didn't stop them.
My Jake is alive now, I can do anything.

The day. They day of the competition. I am so nervous. I feel like there is sweat drenching my body but whenever I go to wipe my forehead there's nothing there. Which was good, I suppose.
"Miss Alexa, are you okay?" Alec, from the dance group, asked me. I gave him a small and weak smile.
"Yeah, no, I'm fine. Don't worry about me." I turned to walk off, or away from him and the rest of the group that was staring at me with uncertainty. I needed a drink.
At the place where the competition is held there are three levels. The bottom level is where the dance floor and stage is, and around that is the first layer of the audience. Above the audience is another row of people, and the same for the third one. The whole place kind of looks like a big dome. Every row of people are circled around the dance stage, at the top of the building was the ceiling which closed in the walls with a big oval shape. This was the biggest dance stage place in the world. That's why this place is such a big deal.
"Alexa. There you are. I've been looking-" I stopped him with my lips against his. Back when, when him and I were together, this was always a way to calm me down. He knew what to do and it worked every time.
He pulled back. "Nervous?" He asked. I nodded and his arms went around me in yet another tight embrace.
"Ladies and Gentlemen may I have your attention please!" Everyone slowly got quieter until it was nearly dead silence. "We have all come out here tonight to witness the most talented dancers all over the country. Let's get this night started off with some dancers that are pretty far from here, give it up for the Troublemakers!" His voice carried on till the music started playing and the dancers came on to stage.
"When do we go up?" I ask Jake.
"Second to last. We have quite a bit of time left to warm up and stretch or whatnot." He smiled warmly at me and then grabbed my hand to walk off to somewhere.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked as we got outside of the building.
"No where. Wait here for a second." He pecked my lips and then ran to his car. I took this moment to look around. I looked up at the sky mostly to see the stars, they are so beautiful tonight. I sought out the Big Dipper, the North Star, and the guy with the bow. Everything is beautiful.
"Alexa." I turned around to see Jake standing there with one hand behind his back.
"Jake? What are you doing?" He smiled and got down on one knee.
"Alexa Rosa Delross. I have loved you since the day-no. I've loved you since before the day that I gave you your first kiss. I knew I would love you as soon as I saw you, I knew you were going to mean a lot to me one day. And here we are. At a huge dance competition with one another, about to go on stage together. Will you be my significant other and respond positively to the following question?" I laughed but nodded. "Will you be mine? Mine forever. Will you be Mrs. Looney?"
He took out his hand and held out a box. A small box. He took his other hand to open the box and when it opened I nearly passed out. It was beautiful. The most beautifulest piece of jewelry I have ever seen. I wish Sam were here.
"Jake...I-I do. I do, I do, I do!" I nearly screamed at saying the last one when Jake quickly got up and grabbed me from around the waist and spin me around. We laughed after he put me back down. Jakes face was full of delight and happiness when he took the ring out of the box and slid it onto my ring finger.
"I love you Jake. So much." I grabbed his face a kissed him. I kissed him like I haven't kissed him in forever. Like we spent years and years apart.
"I would love to continue this amazingly, breath-taking, moment but we have a show to do." He winked and smiled at me before taking my hand and leading me inside.

This chapter was longer, as promised. Next one, the last one, will be up shortly. This would be my very first completed story. I'm actually excited for it to end but sad because I won't be writing it anymore.
Until next time!
