Return Of The Ex

8 months into their relationship Joss had nervously asked Yo if he wanted to move in with him. Yo was surprised but pleasantly happy and couldn't wipe the smile off his face as he said yes eagerly. Joss then hugged Yo tightly before saying "Great, there's a few houses I'd love for us to look at after work." "Why don't we just move into either mine or your place?" Yo questioned. Joss smiled sweetly at Yo "Because it will become our place. A place where we can make memories together. I want to buy a house for us where we can grow old and watch our children play." Yo was a little teary after Joss's sweet, loving words. "I love you Joss" he said before planting a soft kiss upon his lips. "I love you too baby. It's me and you against the world." 

The day slowly passed away and soon it was time to go house hunting. The first house they looked at had beautiful timber floors and a rustic fire place but Yo felt it was a little on the small side. This continued for a couple more weeks until finally the perfect house appeared. It had solid timber floors, 3 bedrooms, a spacious kitchen and dinning area, a small study and a fairly large entertaining area. The house was well within Joss' budget and it was only 20 minutes from their work. It was just what they were looking for and by the next day it was officially theirs, after they finalise some paper work of course. Within 2 weeks Joss and Yo had moved in, with the help of their friends, and were both over the moon. Yo felt like he had truly found the love of his life and couldn't wait to spend the rest of his life with Joss. Joss felt the same way, he was so in love with Yo and couldn't imagine his life without his lover, feeling that he had completely moved on from Gun and found his soulmate.

As they were sitting on the couch, one Saturday afternoon watching a movie, Joss decided it was time to tell Yo about Gun. It wasn't a hidden secret but he didn't want Yo to ever think that he was just using the boy as a replacement. Joss paused the movie before turning to face Yo. Yo didn't understand what was going on until Joss spoke up. "I meet Gun in high school. We were both freshmen and had almost all the same classes together. We instantly became best friends but over time the friendship turned into something more. Towards the end of our sophmore year Gun decided to ask me out, which surprised me but also made me smile like crazy. From that moment onward we became even closer than before. 2 months before I met you, however, he left me out of the blue. No explanation or anything, just a simple text saying goodbye. We had been together for almost 8 years and I thought he was the one, that was until i met you. I never thought I could love again but then you came into my life and turned it upside down."

"Thank you for coming into my life and loving. You made me the happiest man alive" Joss said as he planted a soft, loving kiss upon his boyfriends lips. Yo didn't understand why Joss was telling him about his ex boyfriend all of a sudden but hearing how much Joss loves him him feel like there were a million butterflies in his stomach. "I love you so much" Yo replied as he wrapped his arms around his lover. After cuddling for a few minutes they went back to the movie, enjoying their time together. Joss was convinced that he would never see his ex again but life has a funny way of messing with you. It wouldn't be long until his love for Yo would be put to the test.

As time went by Joss and Yo were now celebrating their 1 year anniversary together at a very popular sushi restaurant, since sushi was Yo's favourite food. While they were enjoying their time together an unknown person walked over towards their table before speaking. "Joss is that you?" the stranger asked. Joss turned his head to face the new comer and was surprised to find his ex boyfriend standing before him. Yo still had no idea who this guy was but he was about to find out. "Hey Gun, what are you doing here" Joss asked. Yo then realised that this stranger was indeed Joss' ex lover and was curious as to why he was here. "I was here with some friends and I thought I saw you sitting over here. Is this your boyfriend?" he said pointing to Yo. Joss nodded while answering "Yes we've been together a year now and couldn't be happier."

Gun was smiling when he replied "I'm so happy for you buddy. You've finally found someone else to love." Yo didn't know how to react to Gun presence so he remained silent throughout this whole ordeal. "I was wondering if we could catch up sometime. I want to explain why I left you without so much as an explanation." Joss was about to respond when Gun continued "You can bring your boyfriend along if you want. I don't want him to think I'm trying to win you back or anything. I lost that right ages ago." He then hands Joss his phone "Give me your number so we can arrange a meet up soon." Joss quickly added his number before handing his phone back to Gun. Gun then said a swift goodbye before heading back to his table. Yo was the first to break the silence, since Gun had left, "So that's Gun huh?" "Yes. I never expected to run into him like this, or at all for that matter" Joss stated. He was still in shock at meeting his ex after all this time.

"I don't know what to do?" Joss asked "I want answers as to why he left but a apart of me isn't sure I should trust him." Yo gently placed his hand on top of his lovers before speaking warmly "Why don't you go and see what he has to say, then make up your mind on whether to believe him or not?" Joss smiled at Yo lovingly "I love you so much Yo." "I love you too Joss" Yo responded back in kind. 

It was almost 2 weeks after their one year anniversary that Gun messaged them, asking both of them to meet up this Saturday at a nearby cafe. Joss was hesitant at first but his curiosity got the better of him and he agreed to the catch up. So 9 o'clock Saturday morning Joss and Yo were waiting at the cafe for Gun to arrive. 5 minutes later and Gun was seen entered the cafe and making his way over to the couple. "Hey Joss" he said then turning towards Yo "I'm sorry but I didn't catch your name." "Yo" was all Yo said before gesturing for Gun to take a seat. 

"It's nice to meet you Yo. Now I know you are wondering why I asked to meet you here but I just felt like Joss needed to know the reason as to why I left him without any explanation." The couple just sat there, listening to Gun speaking. "Well my mother and father found out I was dating a guy and were far from happy about it. They decided to ship me overseas where I was to be forced to marry a young lady they had hand picked for me. It took some time but eventually both parents backed out of the arrangement and allowed their two kids to find their own love. My parents are still struggling to accept me for being gay but they have come a long way in such a short time." 

Joss was shocked, he did not expect that answer to come from his ex lovers mouth. "When I saw you in the restaurant I had to come see you and was wondering if we could become friends again. I promise I'm not trying to come between you and Yo here. I just really miss my best friend." Yo would normally be threatened by an ex coming back into his boyfriends life but Gun seemed to be so sincere about not wanting to mess with their relationship. He spoke up "I'm ok with you and Joss becoming friends again. I trust him and know he would never hurt me." If only he knew his words would open up a door in Joss that he thought was closed forever then maybe he wouldn't of been so lack back about letting Gun back into his boyfriends life. Joss spoke clearly "Of course we can be friends again. You've been my best friend for so long that it seems a shame to throw it all away." Gun was very happy about the turn of events, glad to have his best friend back. He quickly said his goodbyes before heading out the cafe, leaving the couple to themselves. 

Joss slowly turned towards Yo before asking "Are you really ok with me and Gun being friends again?" Yo then planted a soft, sweet kiss upon his boyfriends lips "Of course baby. I love you and know you'd never cheat on me." Joss couldn't believe how lucky he was to have such a kind, caring, understanding boyfriend like Yo. "Do you want to go out on a date?" Joss asked Yo as they slowly exited the cafe. Yo nodded his head eagerly, unaware of what was about to come.
