"A-are you ok?" I asked looking at the tear struck male before me, he slowly shook his head, "what's wrong?" I asked sitting besides him. "I-I almost hurt you.." Jorel muttered looking at me "why do you care?" He asked, "because everyone deserves kindness" I replied smiling. Jorel looked at me confused but the confusion quickly turned back into sadness "w-what's your name?" He asked, "it's Daniel, but most people just call me Danny" I replied. "Well Danny.. I'm crying for a lot of reasons.. the people who are meant to be my friends bully me and pressure me into hurting people.." "Your friends bully you?" I echoed shocked, he nodded slightly "that's awful" I muttered "a-and I'm sorry if this is harder to talk about but, you were throwing up, and you- you're very underweight I can see, do you, make yourself throw up?" I asked worry in my voice, I was scared of how he could react to the touchy question, but all he did was stare at the ground for awhile before nodding slightly. I felt bad for him, but all I could do was ask another question "a-and your arms? Did you do all that to yourself as well?" This question made him start crying again, "oh my god! I'm sorry! You don't need to talk about it!" I told him, he cried for awhile more before shaking his head "I-it's fine... I did.. some of it to myself... i cut.. but.. the bruises..." he looked down, I understood what he was getting at "how's your home life..?" I asked, he sighed "my dad is an alcoholic.. my mum is a druggie, they both hit me..." he said quietly, I gasped and hugged him "that's so awful! I promise you.. I'm going to help Jorel, I promise."
