You changed from your 'gaming and eating pizza' attire to something neater. You didn't know where he planned on taking you but you wanted to look somewhat presentable. Then again, presentable for you was just jeans and a nice sweater.

You left the apartment and followed behind Yato as he led you into a less public area.

"Yato...this is kind of sketchy. What are we doing, again?"

He turned around and held his hands out. "Come closer."

"You're disgusting."

"No that's not what I meant! Remember how I jumped into the apartment last night?"

"Yeah?..."

"I'm going to carry you this time. We can travel faster."

Without permission, he lifted you up bridal style and leaped onto a building. It was at least two stories but he did it with ease.

"Are you crazy?!" You shouted as he placed you back down on your feet.

"I thought we already established that I'm crazy." He commented with a smirk. He then turned his body to the right and pointed in the direction. "Where we need to go is right over there. Can I take you?"

"If you drop me I'm gonna kill you."

He picked you up the same way he did before. Scared, you wrapped your arms around him. This time he looked down at you and made sure you were comfortable.  "You ready?"

You nodded your head but slightly bit your bottom lip and squinted your eyes, bracing yourself. He must've taken notice of this action because he smiled softly. "Relax."

He hopped off the roof gracefully and landed on another. You finally rested your head against him and took in the breeze. He held you tight against him. He was warm and his tracksuit was soft, but what really got your attention was his smell. You couldn't describe it... but he just smelled really good.

"Something wrong?" He looked down at you, slightly concerned.

Shoot! I was staring at him...

Your cheeks were flushed. You tried to look away so he wouldn't notice. "I-I'm fine."

What's wrong with me?!

"Well, we're here.." He said as you landed.

"A shrine?"

He put you down, gently. "Yeah, it's mine."

You looked at him and your eyes widened, "Woah, you're hella rich."

Yato flipped his hair and smiled. "Yeah, I get that a lot..."

"Yato I see you're trespassing on my premises again." An older man walked around the corner wearing what looked like a priest's outfit.

"Pfft, I thought you said it was yours~"

"It is mine!" Yato claimed. He walked over and leaned against the man. "This is my butler."

"Quite funny that you ask your butler for money and sleep outside of his shrine isn't it, Yato?" The man said. You laughed continuously as the old man made fun of him.

"Hey don't expose me, old man!" He yelled back.

The man looked at you and smiled, "Well who might you be? New regalia?"

"Nah," Yato responded for you, "she's what we came to see you about." The old man looked at you and then Yato with an interested expression. "She's human and alive," Yato continued. "She noticed me as I ran in front of a bus yesterday."

Another person walked up to join the conversation. This time it was a woman with short black hair and green eyes. "What's going on?" She looked at Yato and her face immediately was filled with disgust. "And what is he doing here."

There had obviously been some tension between them but you couldn't tell exactly what kind. Maybe she was his ex or something. You decided to bud in and prevent any arguments or disruptions.

"Hi. I'm (y/n)."

She looked you up and down and her facial expression changed once again. She smiled slightly now. "Hi, I'm Mayu."

You responded with a smile as well. "Nice to meet you, Mayu."

"She can see Mayu as well." The old man commented. He looked puzzled like he was trying to decipher something.

"What's wrong with that?" Mayu asked. "Isn't she your new regalia?"

"Nope, she's a normal living human." Yato answered, "Well not exactly normal but.."

You turned to look up at Yato and glared. "At least I'm not an obnoxious, narcissistic lunatic," you responded with sass.

Mayu giggled. "I like her."
