Chapter 14 : Aliens and Host bodies

"Hey Em?" Ian asks, pulling his textbook from his face, his legs propped up on the sofa with throw pillows.

I roll my eyes at the sign of this. The first day we went shopping together Ian made a huge deal about throw pillows. He called them "useless" and a "waste of money", I mostly agreed with him but I wasn't about to let him know that. So we proceeded to argue about the use for throw pillows till I ultimately won, as I knew would happen.

"Yeah"

"Remember the second week at Uni and you made those amazing pork chops?"

"Yeah I remember, why do you ask?" , I look up from my own textbook to see where he's going with the question.

"Can you make them again? But can you teach me? I'm sure Ava told you this but we do not know how to cook at all, and I kinda want to learn. That is if you're willing to teach me?"

I smile at him quietly laughing remembering when I left to England when he burned Ramen-Noodles. "Yeah sure I don't mind, if anything I could use a break from studying", I say closing my textbook and standing up.

Ian hops off the sofa with a huge grin that stretches from ear to ear, his hazel eyes shining bright with excitement. "Heck yeah".

"Come on we got to go to the store then, in other words, bring your wallet" I turn back to him knowing already what he was going to say "and before you even try to fight me on this, I'm driving", Ian gives me a pout but nodded in agreement nevertheless. I slip on my shoes and grab my keys as Ian grabs his shoes and wallet.

"Are we going to Walmart?" Ian asks opening the door while looking into the mirror to fix his hair which looked perfect to me but he tucked some lose curls "into place" as he claimed.

I snorted. "HA you're funny, no way i'm ever buying any type of meant from there. Ever." I stepped out of the room into the hallway where joined me and we started the short walk to the elevator.

"I will never understand why you don't trust meat products from Wal-Mart, its Wal-Mart for goodness sake" he laughs shaking his head pressing the button for the elevator.

My eyes narrowed focusing on him, "Ian, we've been over this!"

"Emily" he narrows his eyes back at me in a challenging yet playful manor, "the meat has to be FDA approved, I think Wal-mart meat is safe".

"That's just what they tell you" I huff stepping into the elevator facing the wall rather than the doors themselves.

I hear laughter being me which no doubt belongs to Ian seeing as we are the only two in the elevator. "Oh Emmy you are such a conspiracy theorist", I can practically hear him rolling his eyes.

"Hey now" I say turning around to face him, only a little too close, I had no idea he was this close to me and now we stand here, our noses just an inch or two apart. I try not to pay attention to the ever so faint stubble on his chin just barely growing on his sides making him yet more attractive than he already is. I also try not to notice the way he is studying my face with amusement clearly still present in his eyes.

Seriously Em? Get it together you cant keep checking this guy out.

I take a step back from him forcing any potentially dangerous thoughts to come to a halt before I do something to embarrass myself. I hide my slight nerves with a smirk before finishing the sentence I had previously started, "When the aliens come down and permanently take over their host bodies, we'll see who was the real crazy person in this conversation"
