Chapter 7: Home

My plane landed about an hour ago. It's wasn't all that bad, Ian and I were texting most of the flight. Apparently he does not know how to work anything, and he burnt ramen noodles.

RAMEN NOODLES!

How on earth do you burn ramen noodles?

When I landed there was a lot of paparazzi, they shouted typical and expected things such as "is it true you're here to stay" or "the princes has finally returned" all things I knew they were gonna ask and I was prepared for.

How ever I was not prepared for the questions about him.

I knew I would have to deal with it and eventually face it here but I didn't think it would be this soon.

Through all the shouting and flashes and pictures I kept a poker face while thanking myself for remembering to grab the sunglasses before I left. I hate those spots that the flashes leave in your eyes.

The press at the airport was nothing to compared to the amount of people camping out on the first gate of my grand parents home. The press are like cockroaches, they are everywhere, you get rid of one and 3 more pop out. I hate them so much most of the time.

"Oh honey, it's been so long, look at you all grown up " my grandmas soothing voices says as I step in the house.

Oh how much I have missed her voice. And my home, everything was the way I left it 2 years ago.

"Look at her beauty, I bet she's broken at lease 20 hearts in the old state of NewYork" my grampas deep voice says.

I open my arms and embrace them in a warm hug. "I've missed you guys so much" I say in a soft voice with tears threatening to escape.

"Emmy!" A familiar little boy hugs my legs.
"Emmet! Look at you, you've gotten so big! Who said you could grow up" I tease as one treatuoris tear escapes.  I crouch down to where I am at his height.

"I'm this many now" he says holding up 7 fingers.

"My oh my, you're old now" I play long knowing very well he's 5

"Emily, is that you?" I spring to my feet searching for him the instant I hear his voice.

I scan the room and see him at the top of the stairs. I start running to the ends of the stairs and he starts climbing down 2 steps at a time. I'll nag him about it later, I just wanna hug my older brother first.

"do my eyes deceive me or is my little sister standing before me?" He pulls me into a tight hug as if he couldn't believe it was actually me.

I bury my head into the crook of his next,"it's me Eli" at 5 feet and 7 inches he towers over me still. I look up and see his brown eyes staring into my own eyes. It takes me a while to notice the unshed tears in his eyes. "You still look like him" Eli whispers wiping away a tear that fell without me knowing.

"I miss him" I start to sob in his arms. Soon he too is sobbing with me. His death may have been 2 years ago but we will never be done mourning over him.

"Grandmomma why is dadda, Emmy and grandma sad crying?" Emmet's adorable 7 year old voice snaps us back to reality.

"Oh no, we were happy crying bubba" Eli tells Emmet.

"Because Emmy and grandma are home?"

"Yeah, because Emmy and Grandma are home."

"Alright enough with the tears, let's go eat lunch" grandma says as she herds us into the kitchen where a meal is set waiting for us.
