The Alpha's Mate

Chapter 12

"What is this place?" I asked the people passing by me slowly. They walked so softly, so quiet...walking into an open door nearby. No one answered my questions, and i could feel my heart beat rise faster. What is this place? Where's Daniel?

I looked at the door which everyone seemed to have disappeared into and let a tear slip my past my eyes. This can't be real. I won't let it be.

I heard a yell of my voice, it was Daniel. I knew it was, but I couldn't answer back. I has a stiff as stone and as silent as a rock. I felt a jolt of my body as I began to shake from side to side then letting out a breath.

I opened my closed eyes and met them with Daniels saddened ones. He had tears built up within them and soon sit up taking in my surroundings.

It was a dream. Nothing but a dream. Daniel began to rub my face gently then said "I yelled for you Hope. You were kicking and shaking. I didn't know what to do."

"It's okay, everything's okay. It was just a dream" I said with a cracked voice

Was it just a dream though? Was it truly? Deep down I wanted so hard to believe it but I knew there was a reason I had that dream. I just didn't know quite yet.

"Talk to me Hope" he said just before Lilian came rubbing through the door.

"I can hear them Dani! They're scaring me"

"What can you hear princess?"

"The voices, the wolf that go's woof woof"

"What are you talking about?"

"He talks to me when he visits. It been a while though" she said smiling and clapping her tiny hands

Before anymore could be said Daniel shot towards Lilian's room in only a tight pair of boxers.

I picked up Lilian running to meet with Daniel again. He stood at the door silently not moving a muscle. I stared confused then I saw Lilian's bed room. He window was wide open, he closet half closed, and a note laying in her bed.

I picked the note up putting it in front of Daniel and I then began to read.

"Sorry I couldn't be there to see your face. Poor Daniel, can't keep his daughter safe even when you're in the same house. I'll be seeing you.

Love, An Old Friend"

I reread the note over and over trying to comprehend it.

"Haha!"

"What the f-" I began to yell then Lilian was in the arms of Zach suddenly

"Did we scare ya?"

"You little shit!" Daniel said jumping to rip Lilian from him

"It was a joke, Lilian thought it was funny" he said chuckling

"Lilian is a child, a baby. You are a member of this pack. A warrior. Not a child!" He said in his Alpha tone

I have to give Zach credit, he's gained a lot of confidence since I first met him but, this. This is too much.

"I'm sorry Alpha won't happen again. Lilian I hope you have fun, see you later little one"

"Bye bye Zach! Fun fun!"

Zach walked through the door with his head held down. In a way I felt sorry for him, but Daniel has every right to protect his daughter.

"Wow" I said in a whisper

"I'm sorry" Lilian said holding her arms out to me

I took her in my arms holder her tightly. I closed my eyes kissing her forehead and rocking her back and forth.

"I love you" I heard Daniel say

I opened my eyes slowly and saw a tear slip from Daniels eye.

He kissed my lips rough after I let Lilian go and he said "She's never done that. Ever. Not with anyone."

I smiled, letting a tear of my own fall then hugged Daniel close knowing that he and Lilian were my family and always will be.
