"Why do i want to become a huntress?"

I questioned myself outloud before grinning as more Grim charged at me, I jumped up, Using the shotgun part of my weapon to kill one at close range.
"I guess.. I want my mother to see me as a warrior, Not some business woman willing to sit around while money kicks in"

I did a 360 spin while slicing through the air using my semblance to manipulate a bit of a wall in front of the grim so it'd lose its step and fall.

"Your mother.. How do you know she's not dead? Such a good huntress like her is bound to have lots of enemies, She could've been taken by now"

I felt anger build up. "Tsk You know she's not dead, Otherwise.. This so called power and responsibility she ran away from would've transferred to me already"

I let my anger control me a bit, My movement was different and even i could sense i was getting too riled up over this question.
"Ah yes, You've got that part all figured out then, But.. What if your mum doesnt want to see you ever again?"

I sliced through another Grim, That being the last one i could see. "Just becoming as good of a huntress as she was is good enough for me, I want to uphold our family name.. My mums legacy"

he took a sip of his drink walking away without another word. I stood there wondering about the question more, Is that really what i wanted? I want to... Uphold my mums legacy?

I ran my fingers through my hair. "No... I want to make my own legacy.." I whispered to myself closing my eyes until i heard the sounds of more Grims, I cleared my mind and put myself onto the task at hand.
Im not here to think about my life choices.

Im here on a mission.

I cleared up my area, and rejoined with the group just as we were being told to setup our camp for the night.
Ruby and Dr Ooblek went on a check around the place to make sure it was secured.
But that question he asked me.. Its making me rethink Why i want to become a huntress.

"Thats not what i meant, Earlier about upholding my legacy" Weiss talked what was on her mind, I stayed distant from everyone leaning on a wall with my arms folded.
Everyone agreed with her. "(F/n) Did Dr Ooblek ask you the same thing?"

Blakes voice pulled me from my thoughts, "Oh.. Uh.. Yeah he did.."

"What did you say?"

I looked away, "That... That doesnt matter anymore"

I glanced at them for a second making eye contact then pulled away so i wasnt looking at Blake anymore.
Would she think i was pathetic if i told her what i said?
What a pathetic reason...

Why should i care what someone who isn't in my life anymore thinks.. Why would i need to? I've always talked about becoming a Huntress so i could find my mother and Prove to her that i'm worthy of having the title of her daughter but...

Is that what I really want?

I dont want the title of being my dads daughter, But my dad didn't leave me... Is my mum really any different from him? She left me, She hid things from me... And my dad.. He basically only keeps me around so i can take that power he wants so badly.

I think what i really want.. Is a place i belong in this world, I feel so torn right now... The only place im sure of that I belong in is.. Team RWBY although they most likely hated me at some point...

I feel like I belong with them either way.

"Ah wonderful! A textbook campfire!"

Ruby ran towards the fire as if she owed her life to it, Ooblek asked for volunteers for the first watch and me and Ruby both put our hands up. "Great! You two can both have first watch"
We nodded in response and walked outside.

Me and Ruby, Also Zwei sat outside watching. "Do you got any embarrassing stories about Yang? I asked smirking"

Ruby looked towards me excitedly "Of course i do!!!!"

The night went on as we told stories about eachother, Ruby watched through the scope of her sniper while i kept lookout easily with my newfound Night vision powers.
We had swapped over who was on watch, It was yangs turn.

I wasnt asleep at all but what really woke me up was Zwei running away and Ruby running after him, I ran after her in a panic, She had picked up Zwei and hid, I joined next to her hiding "Dont sneak up on me like that!" She whisper yelled "We gotta follow them"

We started sneaking around behind them keeping distance. "Did they go in yet?"

"One bark means yes" She whispered to Zwei and we heard a door shut and one bark.
"This is it! Yes" Ruby turned towards me. and tried to call the team, I tried too but we couldn't get through to them "Come on (F/n) We gotta get the others!"

We started walking away when all of a sudden the ground broke, Ruby pushed Zwei up and we fell on hard solid concrete. Thats lovely. "Well... This is.." I held my head then looked at the place we had fallen into.. The door opened behind us and as we were reaching for our weapons we realized...

They were gone.

The White Fang soldiers moved forward grabbing Ruby and I, Ruby tried to lunge at him but failed, I lunged at the guy that had grabbed me and turned him around pushing him off the building.
I saw Ruby get knocked out and then picked up with a gun to her head. "Now now.. Play nicely and she wont die"

I growled lowly and scoffed. "Fine" I was seized by another guy that had walked in through the door immediately as I surrendered...

We were taken to this guy with Orange hair, Roman... Ruby was tossed to the ground and i was tied up and pushed to the ground, I sat there, kind of like how you'd see one do when they were kneeling to a king begging for their life as a low life prisoner.

"Your.. The infamous (L/n) My associates been telling me all about hey? I hear you've nearly got them all figured out..."

He walked forward kneeling down to get on my level. "Well, My boss will be glad to hear that we can get rid of you once and for all..."
