"Because it's meant to be with you."

Taehyung gulped softly, tearing his gaze away from the piercing big bambi eyes of the boy seated next to him. He could feel his heart heavy in his chest, thinking if he should believe the words uttered by him.

"Why me, Jeongguk?" Taehyung cleared his throat as he uttered.

Jeongguk's brows raised before he gently slipped a finger under Taehyung's chin and turned his face to look into his eyes.

"I don't know what is it about feelings just at first sight. They say eyes are a window into the soul. So when two people gaze at each other for the first time, what are the chances that an instant connection is established? One that does not require the crutches of words or expressions. Silence turns into a language and words become unnecessary.

"This is something I felt the moment you knocked on my door that day. Even though there were frown lines right here," Jeongguk lightly traced Taehyung's forehead with his pointer finger, "or an angry pout right here," he bought his finger down to his lips and let them linger there a while.

Taehyung was speechless, his eyes focusing on the small mole under Jeongguk's lips since he was unable to look into his eyes.

"If you ask me why you, Tae. Honestly, I don't know. But it is and nothing can change that. We don't know why we have feelings for certain people, but it doesn't change the fact that we do. We just know."

Taehyung was speechless, staring at the small smile lingering on Jeongguk's face.

"I... I don't know what to say, Jeongguk," Taehyung whispered, pulling his hand away from Jeongguk.

He harshly pulled the IV from his arm, wincing in pain before he jumped to his feet. He had to go away, go home. He wasn't accepting, wasn't ready to understand what the brown haired male was saying. And most importantly, he wasn't ready to agree that he felt the same way.

"Tae!" Jeongguk tried to reach for the silver haired male who jumped away from him and away from the bed, "what the fuck are you doing?!"

"I-I have to go," were the last words before Taehyung sprinted out of the hospital room.

"Taehyung! open the door please!"

Taehyung was sitting, leaning against the door as he heard Jeongguk knock yet again. He has been trying to make the silver haired boy open the door since morning. He wasn't doing it constantly, but he was trying every hour since the time Taehyung ran back home.

The boy did get a lead since Jeongguk had to stay back and complete all the hospital formalities before following him.

"Go away," Taehyung finally whispered. It was close to midnight.

"Tae, please," Jeongguk whispered back.

A loud thud made Taehyung realise that Jeongguk leaned against the door as well and he really hoped that it wasn't the former's forehead. Taehyung sighed, wondering why the other was trying so hard to talk to him.

If Taehyung meant that much to Jeongguk, why did the boy kiss Jimin then in the first place?

"Why don't you go to Jimin," Taehyung muttered against the door and Jeongguk knew the boy was pouting.

"Why would I go to him, Tae?" Jeongguk sighed, pressing his hand against the door as he nuzzled his face too, hoping for it to magically disappear so he could hug Taehyung tightly.

"You should be saying all this to him, not me," Taehyung replied, hugging his knees close to him and resting his chin on them.

"Baby, no..." Jeongguk replied desperately, "it was my mistake, I'm so sorry. It wasn't supposed to end like this."
