Callie knocked on the door of the Cullen household. She waited patiently as Alice opened the glass door.

"Callie, I knew you were coming. Come in, come in," Alice said friendly as she lead her inside. "Emmett is in the garage with Jasper. I'll take you to them."

"Okay."

Callie entered the garage with Alice. Alice went to Jasper admittedly and watched as Callie approached Emmett.

"Hello, Callie," Emmett said with a wide smile.

Rosalie and Trevor appeared in the garage next being followed by Esme and Carlisle.

"Callie, dear, why don't you come play some baseball with the family?" Esme asked kindly.

"Please say yes. It's so much fun," Alice begged clapping her hands happily.

"Sure, why not," Callie stated smiling at the family around her.

"Brilliant," Carlisle said as everyone began to get in their vehicles.

"What about Edward, Bella and their daughter?" Callie asked politely.

"They aren't coming this time. They at their place," Esme told her.

"Rosalie and Trevor can ride with us," Emmett told them as he went to his Jeep. He opened the passenger side door for Callie as he grabbed her waist and hoisted her up into the jacked Jeep.

On the drive to the open area, far from humanity, Rosalie and Callie were chatting nonestop.

Emmett chuckled as they finally grew quiet when they saw the open grass area appear.

Emmett looks in the review mirror at Trevor. "Next time, they both can sit in the back."

"Yes," Trevor agreed laughing slightly as the two girls glared at them.

They all exited their vehicles. Callie stood on the sidelines as she watched the vampires play baseball.

"Come on, Cal," Rosalie called out.

"Come play the game," Emmett told her as he approached her with a smile.

"I don't know," Callie said shyly as she rubbed her arm. "Are you sure y'all are okay with it?"

"Of course," Carlisle said kindly as he looked towards his family who shook their heads agreeing with him.

They watched her as she backed up and started to sprint towards the open field. She jumped and shifted into her wolf. Her tail wagged as she turned around and set them all a wolf like grin.

"You can be on our team," Esme told her. "Man against the woman."

Emmett smirked. Jasper smirked slightly as he stated, "we'll go easy on y'all."

"No need, Jazz," Alice said smirking back at them

"No need, Jazz," Alice said smirking back at them. They were competitive family, Callie noted. They all wore baseball outfits as Callie now realized the boring outfit she wore was now ripped to shreds from shifting.

Alice pitched the ball as Emmett hit it with a bat. It sounded like thunder as the fast ball smacked into the metal bat. The thunder in the clouds rumbled as black clouds appeared.

Callie realized this is why they played in this weather. It's to drown out the sound the ball makes when it hits the bat.

The fast ball flew into the forest. Callie raced for it as she leaped into the air, catching it in her mouth, she landed on all fours and ran back to the field and tossed it to Rosalie as she passed it to Alice as Emmett hit the plate a few seconds after Esme caught the ball and touched the plate.

The woman cheered. "We never win, that was amazing," Rosalie told her as everyone smiled seeing Rosalie liked the wolf girl.

"She doesn't smell like wet dog," Alice told Emmett as they watched the family celebrate from afar.

"It's weird, isn't it?" Emmett said running a hand through his hair.

All of a sudden Alice paused. "We have to go, now!"

Callie was confused as her ears perked but soon when her snout caught scent of wandering vampires, her tail went between her legs and her teeth bared.

"Callie, baby, let's go," Emmett said as the family rushed to their vehicles. Callie wasn't even fazed that he called her that.

"Emmett, pick her up and put her in the back of the Jeep. Rosalie and Trevor will run home," Carlisle told him as he saw that Callie wasn't going to move.

Emmett sped over to Callie. "Come on, Cal," he said softly as the vampires scents began to grow closer. They hadn't sensed then yet luckily. "I'm just going to pick you up," he told her quietly as he lifted her up into his arms. He carried her bridal style. Her huge wolf head laid on his shoulder as he carried her to the Jeep. He laid her down on the backseats as he jumped into the Jeep and sped off to follow his family.

That was a close one, he thought as he watched as Callie whimpered in the backseat. She hadn't really been near real bloodsucking vampires that sucked on human blood. It obviously slightly scared her. His mate was scared and that angered him.
