Emmett found out by Jacob that because she imprinted, he was now allowed on their territory and won't be attacked by any of the pack members.
Emmett sat in his room, wanting to go see her. He sat there anxiously.
"You're emotions are everywhere," Jasper told him as he entered the room to check on his brother.
"I know," Emmett stated. "What am I going to do?" he asked him for advice.
Jasper thought for a moment. "Try to be friends with her, go see her and crack that hard shell of hers. Show her that being imprinted on a vampire isn't the worst thing in the world."
"Great idea," Emmett said standing up and rushing out the window. He jumped from tree to tree.
Jasper stood at the window and rubbed his head. "I didn't mean right now but okay."
...
Emmett had found himself perched in a tree, watching as Callie spared Paul and Jared. She fought them breathlessly. She was angry. She used them as a punching bag and they took the hits thinking that it'd help her cope with the situation.
Paul and Jared smelled the vampires smell without even having to look up.
"We have to go patrol," Paul lied to her.
"Sorry, Cal," Jared apologized as they both ran off.
Callie shrugged her shoulders as though she didn't care. She watched them leave. She shook her head and shifted. She ran through the forest as fast as she could. Her eyes darted up as she saw the buff vampire following her through the trees.
"Race me?" he shouted as he jumped from tree to tree. She continued to run and run faster which he took as a yes. Running through the woods, they soon reached a point where they were on the cliffs.
Emmett dropped to the ground and stated cockily, "your fast but not fast enough."
He looked behind him as he ducked, she jumped over him and ran to the edge of the cliff.
"No!" he shouted as she jumped off the cliff. He ran to the edge. He watched her plunge into the water and seeing that she hadn't rose for air, he took off his shirt and jumped in after her.
He dove in and saw her paddling underwater having struggles to get to the surface with the tides. He grabbed the neck of her fur and pulled her up.
Once out of the water, she shifted behind a rock and changed into clothes that were tied around her ankles. She laid on the sand, her hair was wet.
Emmett walked over and put a hand out. "Are you okay?"
She got up, pushing his hand aside. "Weren't friends," she growled at him. He followed her into the forest.
"I know you imprinted on me," he told her. She froze in her spot. "I know you feel it too. You can't push it aside, it'll kill us."
She glanced over her shoulder. "Then let it kill us," she stated coldly as she started jogging back home.
He stayed where he stood and stared up at the cloudy sky. He shut his eyes as it started to lightly rain. In a flash, he raced back home to see his family in the living room waiting for him. He just shook his head and stayed in his room for the rest of the afternoon. Her words repeating in his head, "then let it kill us."
