That morning, Sam decided that everyone should go the beach for some pack bonding. When they had arrived, the boys went to go play soccer on the sand while the girls lightly snacked on the food Emily made.
Kim is Jared's imprint. Rachel, Jacobs sister, is Paul's imprint. Emily is Sam's imprint, of course. All three girls sat around Callie, they wanted to talk about Callie's imprint.
The newbies Brady and Collin got along with Jared, Paul and Sam pretty well. They were playing soccer together. Callie was surprised to see her twin actually playing for once instead of being all bossy.
"So," Emily started.
"How are you doing?" Kim asked laying her hand upon Callie's for comfort.
Callie squeezed her hand. "I'm okay. I'm just confused, I guess," she admitted. She took some grapes out of the container and popped them into her mouth.
"I would be too. I barley talk to my brother," Rachel admitted. "But I wouldn't leave Paul to be with my brother. If he wants to socialize with those vampires then go right ahead."
"Would you guys hate me? Would the boys?" Callie asked quietly.
"No, of course not!" Emily said quickly. "Sam wouldn't do that to you, you'd always be apart of the pack."
"You're like Jared's and Paul's sister.
They love you," Kim told her as she munched on a egg salad sandwich.Callie looked towards the boys. They waved at her, smiling like goofballs.
"I'm scared," Callie admitted. "I know it'll kill me, it already is."
Rachel sighed. "Maybe you should give in."
"It won't harm any of your relationships with the pack," Emily added.
Before Callie could speak, the boys plopped down onto the sand.
"What you girls talking about?" Jared asked as he cuddled with Kim. Paul and Sam did the same to their imprints. Bradly and Collin were pigging out on the food to even notice.
"Nothing," Kim told him.
Callie felt out of place. She wanted someone to hold her and love her. She sighed under her breath as a light breeze blew around them. She watched the waves crash against the sand shores.
"I'm going to go for a walk, don't wait for me," she told everyone. They sent out their goodbyes as she stood from the sand and began her walk through the forest, taking the long path home.
She stuffed her hands in her jean pockets and stared at the trees around her. She took a deep inhale of the pine smell of the woods. It was cloudy again today.
"The names Emmett."
Callie jumped at the voice. She turned her head so fast she should've gotten whiplash. She stumbled backwards slightly. He was leaning against a tree.
"When did you get here?" she asked annoyed as she crossed her arms over her torso. "You can't be on my land."
"I just got here and yes I can because I'm your imprint," he stated smirking. He had a cocky expression on his face.
Callie rolled her eyes and started walking off.
"Wait, wait!" Emmett shouted, running over to her. He touched her arm and stood in front of her. He dropped his hand and stared into her eyes.
"What?" she asked rudely. "It's a Wednesday, shouldn't you be at school?"
"No. I graduated this year. What about you?" he asked as he walked backwards, she kept walking forward.
"I graduated last year before leaving for Canada."
"How old are you?" he asked raising an eyebrow.
"Nineteen."
"So am I."
She rolled her eyes. They kept walking, with him stepping backwards and her walking forward facing each other.
"How long you been nineteen?"
His smile flattened slightly before he smirked again. "Too long, babe."
"Don't call me that," she growled, pushing past him. "I have a name!"
"Your names Callie, right?" he asked rushing to keep up with her.
"Yes. Now go away," she said annoyed.
"You can't run from me forever. I heard what you said to those girls, you know it, I know it, they know it, this won't last long before you'll come crawling to me," he told her cockily.
She shook her head. "In your dreams."
"Can't have dreams if I can't sleep," he said blankly.
"Was that a joke?" she asked confused. She didn't know whether he was just messing with her or not. "Oh wait, your dead! I hope you know, I like living, breathing, heart beating men."
Her words stung. He held a tough look. The smirk not fading from his lips. "That might be what you like but not all of us get what we like," he told her. "My point is, Callie, you don't smell like wet dog, you actually look more then attractive then any shapeshifter I've ever seen and I've never been more happier to find you finally in my life. I've been waiting too long," he spilled his heart out to her.
She paused and stopped walking. "Stop talking," she told him.
"Everyone has somebody, I know you feel that too. You feel left out but it doesn't have to be that way if you just give us a chance," he pleaded to her.
"Leave me alone!" she shouted as she ran all the way to the house without looking back. She run up the steps of the cabin and hidded in her room for the rest of the afternoon.
