It's been 8 years since Lukas first came to this wretched place, but it's only been two days since Emil was last here. He had been working here for a while now and wasn't only a visitor anymore. The Icelander walked down the familiar halls with two cups. One was half full of water and the other had a daily antidepressant, he was ignoring the little calls of the other patients. One lady even mistook him for her granddaughter.
Emil stopped in front of a door, a guard unlocking it to let him in. The door shut right behind him and Emil started to smile softly at the figure in front of him who had obviously just finished getting dressed. Lukas looked at his little brother, momentarily pausing from fiddling with the shirt.
"I bet it feels weird wearing normal clothes, huh?" Emil took a step closer, handing him both of the cups. Lukas nodded before taking the medicine. He couldn't give a verbal response as he had scratched out his vocal cords 2 years ago in a fit of violence when he was behind glass and struggling to hurt anyone he could get his hands on. Emil wrapped his arms around Lukas tightly, feeling a jolt of happiness as the hug was returned immediately.
Emil smiled, happy that he could hug his brother now without someone yelling at them or keeping such a close eye that it was uncomfortable.
"Are you ready to go home, Storebror?" Emil pulled away, watching Lukas nod.
As they left the room Emil had to once again ignore the random callings. One guard each door, all holding sedation shots and cuffs. It made Emil sick to the stomach knowing what happened to people who were put here, making Lukas' leave all the more sweeter to him. They picked up the medication from the front desk and left the building, Tino was in a still running car waiting for them.
Once the three got home Lukas fell down onto the sofa, a small smile gracing his features. He definitely seemed and felt better. Tino smiled, flopping down on top of him and Emil following.
"Sammich." Tino mumbled, causing Emil to giggle softly. All in all, Lukas was so glad they forgave him. Otherwise, he probably would be dead if it weren't for their own visits to the 'Hospital.'
Tino slipped out from between them, standing up and heading to the kitchen. He was probably going to make something to eat, Emil clambered off Lukas and turned on the television to find something to watch. The Norwegian stood up to follow the Finn, maybe he could help with whatever.
As Lukas walked into the kitchen he heard an audible squeal as Tino dropped a can and a mouse scurried away from him. Lukas raised an eyebrow, watching the mouse run past him. He looked back up at Tino.
'Do you need help?' He signed. Tino nodded, sighing softly.
"Yeah, some help would be great."
Not too long after they had been cooking for a while, almost all tension that had built up in the past years seemed to fade away completely. Tino took a step back from the grease that popped in his face, hissing at the burning pain. Lukas put down what he was doing and quickly wet a rag with cold water, running over and pressing it to the burn.
Tino had a few tears welling in his eyes as put a hand on Lukas' arm, crystal blue eyes staring into Lukas' permanently bleached ones. They were still memorizing however, the light flecks of a cream purple always showing around the edges and lining his pupil.
"Th-thanks..." Tino mumbled, letting Lukas tend to him. Lukas only nodded, pulling away the rag to examine the small burn. His eyes caught Tino's and they held a small staring contest before the Finn shut his eyes, pressing his lips to Lukas'. Lukas was taken back a little but nonetheless returned the kiss.
In the distance, the news reporter was heard reading out his file.
"Nearly all citizens infected by the ancient parasite that was recently released 9 years ago, now medically known as Vehementcerebrious, have made shockingly clean recoveries. Allowing the Norwegian government to reopen the country's borders and continue on as normal."
