Chinatsu: Both Ninja and Wizard

Ch. 26

Third POV

Time passed by rather quickly for the two hyperactive children. By the time they were done training, they had trained longer than they thought. Now they only have only twenty minutes to get ready and get to the gate. So they had to rush. Throwing everything and anything in their only backpack that they can bring.  What they both mostly stuffed in their bags were kunai and Ramen. They, of course, stuffed clothes and all the essentials but it was mostly Ramen and Kunai.

With fifteen minutes to spare the two double checked they had everything. While they were doing so Chinatsu thought to have more room for more stuff, they split the bags. Chinatsu holds the clothes and Naruto holds the kunai and food. So they dumped out their bags and separated the clothes from the kunai and food. Now they only have five minutes to get to the gate on time.

They quickly left Naruto's apartment, Chinatsu reminding him to lock it, before booking it to the gates. The streets were crowded. It was rush hour at the moment, so people were doing their shopping and going out to eat. Naruto and Chinatsu share a look. They knew they wouldn't be able to make it to the gates it a crowd like this! They could be pushed to the other side of town if they tried!

"What should we do Naruto?" Chinatsu questioned. She knew the moment she was late that she would be scolded by Sakura. Maybe even Sensei if he was earlier than us. God if only it were Kakashi, maybe he'll go easy on the two. But Sakura? She'll murder them with only her voice. They needed a plan, and fast.

Naruto looked around, anxiously. His eyes danced around the streets and building to try to find an answer.  He knew going through the crowd would only make them even late, so that plan was off the list first. Teleporting wouldn't even be on the list since they both don't know that kind Jutsu yet. Dusty gears started turning in his head as his eyes drifted to the roof of the building. Naruto stares at the rooftop in thought. 

"The rooftops!" Naruto shouts, "We can jump on the roofs to get to the gates,"

Chinatsu smiles. "Naruto! You're a genius!!"Chinatsu shakes the boys in excitement. "Let's go, before we are later than Kakashi-Sensei!" The two jumped on the roof and raced to the gate. 

They swiftly jump roof to roof, Naruto in the lead. As they rush to the gates, people below them look up at the two every once and a while and shake their heads. They were at it again...

Naruto landed in front of the gate, scaring the crap out of his two teammates and an unknown man, most likely the guy they had to escort. Chinatsu fell next to him, out of breath. "All that running and stress made me tired," 

"Good, everyone is here, now let's head out and not waste time," Kakashi appeared out of nowhere and walked ahead of the group. 

Chinatsu cheered. "Let's go, let's go, let's go!!" She ran ahead and past Kakashi. Kakashi said nothing as she continued her way down the trail. In a second Naruto ran after her, cheering in agreement. The rest walked behind the two running ahead. "Are those two always like... this??" Tazuna, their escort, questions slowly. 

"Unfortunately," Kakashi sighed. 

Kakashi and Tazuna lead the three kids where they needed to go. The walk to the boats was filled with annoyed sighs from Sakura and Sasuke and blabbering nonsense from Chinatsu and Naruto.  Chinatsu was walking backward, talking to both Sasuke and Sakura. Naruto was next to her, listening and commenting on everything she said. Kakashi looked around. Right after given the mission, Kakashi went to where Tazuna was staying and spoke to him about the mission. It was a simple task, take him to the Land of the Waves and that's it. But ever since Kakashi spoke to Tazuna, something felt off... almost like he wasn't telling the whole truth. 

In the corner of Kakashi's eye, he spotted an unusual puddle on the ground. It hadn't rained at all during the week, heck, it wasn't even near the rain season. To say the least, Kakashi let his guard up for a little longer. Kakashi knew that the two idiotic ninjas were going to jump out within a couple more steps. 

One step...

Two steps...

Thr-

"Wait," Chinatsu stopped in the middle of her tracks causing everyone to stop. "Do you smell that?" She questioned, seriously. Naruto sniffed the air, "Nah, why? Did you smell something weird?" He questioned. Chinatsu nodded slowly. 

"It stinks, like sweat... and blood- Are you guys serious? You can't smell it?" Chinatsu scrunched her nose. "It's like right in this area!" 

Sakura and Naruto shake their heads. "No, not at all," 

"Hey, you know we don't have all day? We shouldn't be wasting time on a nonexistent smell," Tazuna sassed but he also seemed scared. Kakashi noticed that Tazuna was doing well not showing it in front of the four kids.

Chinatsu looked unsure, "I swear, I'm not crazy, it reeks of sweat and blood" She then flinched sharply and looked where the puddle was. Kakashi looked toward the puddle and squinted his only visible eye. Did she have heightened senses?  "Someones here, they have to be, " She stated, paranoid. Kakashi looked over at her in thought. I guess that's some news to tell the Hokage...

"Chinatsu-" Naruto began fearfully. Chinatsu shook her head, cutting him off. "No, I heard... clanging! Of like knives or something..." Sasuke tensed slightly at that. He wasn't scared, in fact, he didn't believe a word Chinatsu blabbered about. 

"Ha, ha! You got us Chinatsu, you scared us!" Sakura laughs sarcastically before turning serious, "Now, quit it!" Chinatsu opens her, hurt by her accusations. "I'm telling the truth!" She shouts, frustrated. 

"If you don't believe me then go ahead, I know what I smelled and heard!" Chinatsu started to walk off in anger. She didn't go off far though, because two ninjas jumped out from their hiding spots. Time seemed to slow down for Chinatsu. Her senses hadn't lined up right as she heard the ninjas jump in the air. She had turned around just in time to witness Kakashi being ripped apart by one of the ninja's weapons. 

Chinatsu's heart dropped in an instant before beating with adrenaline.
