It was dark. I was running down a passage of sorts. There was something behind me. I didn't know what. I didn't want to find out. My bare feet slapped the wet ground as I ran. I could barely make out and exit in front of me. I ran faster. The thing was catching up. The exit moved further away. I pushed my legs as far as they would go. Something dripped onto my shoulder, dark red and sticky. I didn't have to look to know what it was. A hand snatched my ankle and I looked down. It was Corey, with blood pouring out of his eyes and mouth. His pale hand scratched at me, desperately gripping my ankles. Something else exploded from the earth. It was Saph, face so cut up I could barely recognise her. "You......" Her scratchy voice clawed at my ears, I covered them. Then I fell, it was pitch black and I was falling, there was no up of down, no left or right. Just me, falling.

I landed in a pile of bodies and the smell almost made me throw up. I couldn't see their faces, they had been burned my fire. They burnt bodies were black and as I looked, parts of their skin peeled off, revealing angry red flesh. They looked at me through their hollow eyes. "You....!" They pointed accusatory fingers at me.

"You! You did this to us!" They screamed. I tried to run but my feet sank into the pile of soft flesh and I was stuck. They grabbed me and pulled me under. I was drowning. Suffocating in a tower of flesh. I was dying. Blackness.

I woke up screaming and covered in sweat. Corey was right beside me. "Calm down, it was just a nightmare." He said.

I tried to slow down my breathing. It felt so real. I closed my eyes and I saw them again, the faces. I shook my head and looked around me, I was in my room with Corey right beside me. He looked so worried I felt bad.

He took my head in his hands, "did you have a nightmare?"

I shrugged, "it's fine, no big deal." He sighed and sat back down.

"I'm always here if you need to talk," he grinned, "our beds are literally a meter apart."

I smiled, "my parents would kill me if they found out I was sharing a room with a boy."

"They love me, it's fine." He chuckled. "You're actually in my room, so they can't blame me."

I laughed, "I hope we hear from them soon, they've been undercover at the palace for so long. I hope they're alright."

Corey looked at his feet and mumbled, "I'm sure they're fine."

It was already 5am so we kept chatting until our first training at 6:30. It was nice for once to have a normal conversation that didn't involve discussing ways to kill demons without getting your blades dirty. Saph hated having dirty blades, she didn't enjoy seeing their black blood stained on her precious sword. She actually named it Adira, after her mother.

We arrived at the training room on time, which was a first for Corey. Daria was already there, early as usual. We turned decided that today we were going to train in the ice biome. We entered and selected advanced mode, which I personally did not want to do, but Corey convinced me to do it. The ice started whirling around us as the wind picked up, soon it was howling so loud we couldn't hear each other. This was bad. And it got worse.

I heard a roar and sighed, today was so not my day. I turned around and there it stood, an ice dragon. Well, not a real one. It turned around and faced me, its beady yellow eyes piercing into my soul. I faced it as well, summoning the first weapon that came to mind. A short sword, I could make that work. I twirled the sword in my hand and prepared to attack when a hand grabbed my arm, tight. I turned to see Daria gripping onto my forearm.

"What. Are. You. Doing?" I hissed at her.

"Saving your goddamn ass. Again." She snapped back. "Dragons only attack when provoked. Don't stare her in the eyes and she will let you pass."

I looked away from the dragon and edged past it into a cave, where the treasure was. This was a treasure hunting mission, so once someone got their hands on the treasure the simulation would be over. I could see it now, a chest with gold and gems spilling out of it. Cliché much. I was almost there when we were stopped by a loud scream.

"AHHHHH!!"

The scream came from Kal, who had just arrived. He saw the dragon and charged.

"No!" Daria and I screamed at the same time but it was too late.

A/N ohohoho what's gonna happen now? Wee bit short sorry =) Stay tuned for more!
