7: the diner

after gemma's mum requested something to eat she hurried over to the diner and ordered something her mother would usually get. as the person behind the counter took her order, he went to the back to most likely hang up her order so the cooks can get right to it. she rested her head on her hand, closing her eyes. she moved around uncomfortably in her seat because she felt eyes on her, and no she didn't dare to open her eyes to see who was. it was something gemma had to get use to -- even if nobody was staring at her and she had the feeling of it -- it had been completely normal to her.

soon enough the wait for her mum's food was over and she paid the kind young man behind the counter before getting up, she held her head down as she punched opened the entrance to the diner, nearly knocking down herself and someone she had bumped into. her cheeks starting to burn a bright colour when she noticed who it was -- luke -- she didn't want to see him today, i mean, who would? she looked bad as it is telling him she wouldn't go out with him to the diner, but she's here herself. luke didn't seem to mind though.

"hey there," he smiled, looking at her. "i didn't think i'd see you here."

nodding, gemma responded. "yeah, me either. i-i was getting food for my mum.." she held up the plastic bag with the diner's logo on it.

luke nodded, still smiling at her. "i guess i'll see you tomorrow at lunch?

no, gemma wasn't sure. she was going to skip lunch tomorrow, she felt as if her thighs were a bit too ugly and fat, she wanted to fix it (but in reality, they were fine.) if only she could she wanted she needed to see and not what she wanted too, things would be easier. and even though she wasn't sure about going to lunch, she nodded and walked passed luke and started for home.
