I could tell something was on Rosie's mind, something was bothering her. We had been eating dinner in silence for almost twenty minutes, she wasn't even eating. Just using her fork to push around the items on her plate.

"How was your day?" I start the conversation in hope to ease out what was on her mind.

Rosemary was the best at hiding things so I knew that if she really didn't want me asking, she'd simply not show any signs of bothersome.

"It was...interesting."

I furrow my eyebrows, "Interesting how?"

She gets up to go into the kitchen, cleaning off her plate.

I wanted to cook tonight, so we didn't have to be around the transfers every second of the day.

"I've just been hearing some things," she calls out from the kitchen.

"Like what?"

I hear a plate being sat down and soon enough she's standing in front of me, hands on her hips.

"Why is Jeanine Matthews at the Dauntless compound?"

I don't even know how to answer the question, what we were planning was something Rosie would never take part in and would probably try to stop. Hell, I didn't even want to do this, but I can't get out of this now.

Jeanine would actually kill me.

Think, think, think you stupid fuck.

"She was giving us a new serum to try out," I'm hoping she doesn't catch the piece of lie.

I mean, technically it wasn't a huge lie. Jeanine was giving us a new serum, the reason why was the part I don't want to tell Rosie about.

I've tried so hard to keep her out of this mess, if something were to happen to her.

Max constantly begged for me to get Rosie into the meetings and Jeanine wanted so badly to meet the girl who tamed my heart, but I don't know how dangerous this could get.

"Why doesn't Max want me in the meetings?"

I mentally let out a sigh of relief that she didn't ask further about the serum.

"He didn't want to drag all of the leaders into something unimportant," I explain.

She stared at her shoes for a second and than slightly nods her head, she believed me.

I got up from my chair, abandoning my food to wrap my arms around her waist and rest my chin on her shoulder.

"Don't worry about it baby," I whisper into her ear.

"I'm not, I just-"

"Seriously Rosie, it's not a big deal."

My voice is soft and I'm hoping she ignores my urge to drop the topic.

She turns to face me, leaving kisses along my face. Something I've convinced her I hated, but secretly loved.

"I'm going to take a walk," she whispers to me.

I quickly kiss her forehead, "Meet you at the parlor in thirty?"

"You're getting a new tattoo?" She laughs as she opens the door.

"Just a little something to complete the arm."

We exchange our goodbyes and I go to finish the food from earlier.

What the hell was I going to do?"

I walked around the compound, putting Eric and I's conversation to rest.

He said everything was fine, so it's fine.

I looked around at the Pit, it was almost empty due to the amount of people in the dinning hall. I made my way to the chasm to relax, after all these years it was still the place I went to when I was stressed.

When I approached the water, I could see a body with their feet dangling over the dangerous place; just like how I would.

That's when I recognized the face; the Amity girl I had saw jumping from the train, I had completely forgot about her since then.

"Rain?"

She turned to face towards me, her honey colored eyes lighting up at the sight of me.

"Rosemary," she jumps from her spot excitedly.

"Careful."

Rain starts to walk more carefully at the sound of my strict voice, something I had gained over the years.

"Hi- hey- how are you?" Her voice is still filled with the Amity joy.

"Why are you here?" I get straight to the point.

Rain and I had grown up together and were supposed to be in the same choosing ceremony, but due to an injury she was put a two years behind.

The Rain I knew did not belong in Dauntless.

"That's what I need t talk to you about," she says quietly.

I fold my arms and give her a 'go ahead' look.

"I don't think I'm Dauntless-"

"I could have told you that," I interrupt her.

"But," she emphasizes,"it was one of my aptitude results."

"Okay," I say confusingly.

"Along with Amity and Abnegation."

I gasped at what she was telling me, I didn't know that people like this were real.

That they even existed, did they?

"Wait, are you telling me-"

"Yes," she nods her head.

"I'm divergent."

I stared at her in awe, why did she trust me with this info? I could easily turn her in. Then I remember who I am; the Amity girl who tried so hard to become a fearless Dauntless leader.

I was just like her.

And there was no way in hell I was letting anything happen to her.
