Q: What's your name/pen name?
A: I'm Abby
Q: What's your sign?
A: Pisces
Q: What's something you wish you could shout out to the world right now?
A: Don’t be a drone to society and media. Have some empathy. Stop segregating people determined by their race, religion, preferred gender or none, sexual orientation, and financial stability. Don’t be afraid to get help. You are not your mental illness. Give someone you love a hug.
Q: What's something toxic you'd like to change about Wattpad?A: All the fucking bad boy novels.
Q: How do you deal with vulnerability?
A: I embrace my vulnerability even though it makes me irritable. It reminds me that I’m human again and not a docile robot with no sentiment (not too deep, I suffer from DID and depersonalization) and sometimes I have all these emotions and exposed parts in and out.
Q: What do you believe in?
A: I believe in aliens. I think they’re more than a cute little sticker on your laptop or a fun Halloween costume. Do you realize how big this world is? Do you just avoid fact and science in the presence of religion and guys in suits? It’s fun to observe and think about the things people just brush off y’know? I like to have an open mind about phenomenons, government secrets and conspiracies. If we are the only intelligent beings in this universe and everything our political superiors say is true, I want my house on the dark side of the moon.
Q: What's something considered uninteresting by friends/family that you enjoy/find intriguing?A: Since I was in middle school, a lot of my friends and family have never comprehended my undying love for animè.
Q: How did you know someone loved you/you loved them?A: I knew I loved a pistachio better without the shell when I bought a bag of them (salty cover absent of course) for the first time. It was so easy, no need to stand over my garbage can spitting the unnecessary pieces out when I could lay in bed shoving handfuls in my mouth and taking them straight down all at once. Pistachios aside, I feel like everyone hates me, but I genuinely have a love for anyone I meet. Love is so easy for me and that’s what makes me so soft and weak because it eventually hurts.
Q: Where does creativity have a place your life? (ex. art, writing, everything, etc.)A: Creativity has wedged itself in every crevice of my life. The way I do my hair, make up or putting together an outfit and decorating my room. The aesthetics on my instagram page and all the words I’ve written and erased in my writings, shitty or not. Everywhere I go and the impression I give says, “Hey, I’m probably not one of a kind but who else in this town wears horizontal stripes on vertical stripes?”
Q: What's the scariest thing you've done that was totally worth it?
A: The summer of my junior year I got to go to my dream college to play and learn in their spirit camp for musicians going into leadership roles at their high schools. If I remember right, I spent five days there. It was so scary for me with severe social anxiety but I ended up learning a lot, making a few talented friends and it made me a better leader for my section.
Q: What's something you've done in the past you definitely wouldn't do now?
A: I wouldn't dye my hair red again.
