Yawning loudly, I approach the spacious kitchen in the wee hours of the morning. Dragging my feet on the tiled floor since I still feel quite sleepy. It seems that my body's already asking the payment for the debt of sleepless nights and hard work these past few weeks but I shrug it off, fighting the urge to go back to bed to continue my slumber. I have to cook breakfast. I've got to. I say to myself. This is all my fault so I have to be here to help Tony recover quickly.
Kelly, George, and Greg claim that they're hopeless cooks so my hands are tied, I've no choice but to prepare our daily meals. I can whip through some homecooked dishes but mostly instant or fried ones. Nothing compared to Tony's capabilities. He's awake but he hasn't fully recovered yet so they have to stick to the food I make. However, I'm still glad to have a purpose here, acknowledging that I'm the culprit behind the accident, I can't give my financial obligation yet but at least I can help in this small way.
I go straight to the fridge to peek through the available ingredients, "Hmm... Eggs, cheese, milk, and nothing. Seems like we have no choice but to eat omelet and toast this morning." I weakly talk to myself.
"I doubt that you can cook a hearty meal though. Omelet may be complicated already for your skills." A man's cold, bland voice fills the kitchen.
"Whoa!" I am shocked and it dawned on me that I forgot to turn the lights on, I walk towards the wall at the other side of the room, flicking the switch quickly, revealing Tony sitting on the breakfast counter, "Are you some sort of an owl that loves the dark? You startled me and excuse me? I've got above average cooking skills, FYI."
He replies but I only hear garbled sounds, not getting what he's saying. Blame it to being distracted by this hottie. I take everything in as I behold this wonder before me. My other senses except hearing are greatly stimulated at this instant, fully reawaken. The view is breathtaking.
Tony Green is undeniably exceptional, he's an icon for a reason. Who can sport a crumpled, old white shirt and boxers with Mickey Mouse design but still appear like he's posing for a movie poster? His legs are crossed while knees are spread with apart. Arms stretched, his two hands lay flat on the counter behind his back to support his weight. His wavy, brown hair is disheveled, that's too damn sexy for my liking. How can someone gloriously wake up like that? And his nose got this adorable bump in the middle, making it look taller than it's supposed to be. I have to skip on describing his lips, I missed those a lot so I can't look at it right now. He sure did look slimmer, nonetheless, he's still robust and brawny.
He gives me a blue stare and a wolfish grin, unintentionally showing his deep dimples. Those two are always naturally curving in his cheeks, even if he just speaks, "Like what you see?"
Nervous laughter bubbles out of my throat, hoping that he didn't notice that I didn't get to listen to his previous reply. I sure did look at him longer than I imagined, "I'm not checking you out." His statement brings back a memory of the first time we met. He's still the same Tony, proud of himself. Who wouldn't be if you have such a gorgeous face with stimulating attractiveness?
"I've got a keen nose for lies. I bet that you're lying right now. You're absolutely checking me out." He wiggles his brows.
"Don't hold your breath. I'm not attracted to you or anything." Rolling my eyes as I keep my face stoic. I'm not just attracted to you, I'm in love with you, idiot.
"Whatever, Amber." He smirks.
It's been three days since Doctor Bill explained to us about Tony needing time and effort to recuperate from the coma. I assist Tony with his meals so we develop quite a bond. I've also asked forgiveness from him and he said we're cool since he's recovering now.
