*Tony's POV*
The ambulance arrives at the nearest private hospital. We decided to bring Ash to the hospital because she's been unconscious for an hour. I hold her hand tightly as we enter the emergency room. I wasn't allowed to be on her bedside. A redhead female nurse on her 30's approaches me to interview the patient.
The nurse keeps on batting her eyelashes at me, pouting her lips while writing my answers to her questions. Unable to contain my irritation, I gawk at her but she didn't mind. She asks a few more queries about what happened to Ash and I answer her emphasizing that she's my 'wife', 'my other half', so that she'll stop flirting during this stressful situation. She's getting into my nerves so bad.
After roughly an hour, a young male doctor comes out from the Emergency room, "Who's Ms. Ash Green's guardian?"
"Mrs. I'm her husband." I stand up from my seat in the waiting area.
"Mr. Tony Green." He looks stupefied as he says my name and shakes my hand. He must've recognized me, it's a relief that he's a professional, "Your wife collapsed due to stress. Her vital signs are now stable. She'll be awake soon. She may be discharged once she regains consciousness. I suggest that you keep her away from things that can trigger strong feelings of worry and anxiety. You may go ahead and stay on her bedside."
"Thank you, doctor." I nod in agreement. I walk along the course leading to the emergency room where another female nurse leads me to Ash's bed. She pulls the folding partition revealing an empty bed. The intravenous fluid soaks the bedsheets. An increasing apprehension occupies my whole being, "Where is she?"
The nurse shows a confused visage, "That's strange." She calls the other male nurse to ask if Ash went to the bathroom. He answers that it's empty.
Fear creeps through my spine, "Where is my wife?" I exclaim. The nurse runs in the direction of the emergency exit. I follow her, only to find out that the door's been smashed open.
My fingers tremble while I dial 911, "Please send help. My wife's been taken from the hospital!" I'm in a panic. What the hell is going on?
I can't just wait for help, I need to make a way to find my wife. I call Greg's cellphone, "Ash is missing!"
"What?!" He answers.
I hear Kelly talking beside him, "What's happening? Why do you look shocked?"
I continue, "The doctor said she's just resting but she's not on her bed and the emergency exit's been damaged forcibly. I already called 911 but I can't just sit back here!" My phone shows another call waiting on the other line, "Wait. I got another call, let me answer this! Find out if Trixie escaped from prison." I tell myself to stay calm but I cannot control my agitation.
The number is unsaved on my phonebook, "Hello?" I answer the call, placing Greg's call on hold.
"Hello, Mr. Green?" A female voice speaks. This isn't Trixie, "I'm a receptionist here at Hotel Summer. There's a certain man named Ashton, forcing his way to the penthouse. He says he needs to talk to you ASAP."
Ashton. That airhead is working with Trixie on this. I shiver in disgust.
"Get him on the phone. Now!" Just let me get my hands on him, I want to strangle this guy so bad.
"You're so fucking gormless, Tony Green!" Ashton's British accent thunders on the other end.
"Where is my wife?! Don't you dare lay a finger on her or I'll kill you!" My hands ball into a fist.
"What?! What are you talking about? You stupid asshole! Come to your hotel right this instant! I need to talk to your face so I can punch you right here, right now, you dumbass!" Ashton didn't wait for my response and ended the call instantly.
Greg is still waiting on the other line, "Tony, I've checked and Trixie's still in jail."
"I think Ashton's got Ash. He's working with Trixie on this. He must've hidden her somewhere. Please coordinate with the police to check the CCTV around the hospital and find out where he took her. He's at the hotel right now. I'm going to talk to him there. Tell the police to go to my hotel, too." I'm beyond shocked. I won't let Ash get hurt. I won't let Trixie and Ashton get away with this!
*****
A hard blow lands on Ashton's face the moment I reach him at the hotel lobby, "Where's Ash?! Release my wife this instant!"
The hotel staff and guests watch bewilderedly.
He recovers faster than I imagined and he kicks me on my leg, making me fall on the ground, "Screw you! What makes you think that Trixie can harm your lovely wife? She's her best friend for goodness sake! Are you even using your brain? Seems like you don't have one, stup-"
I trip him using my other leg, making him fall right next to me. Taking this opportunity to grab his collar, I sit and lean towards him, staring at his face who appears sleepless and distressed, "She was her best friend. She tried to kill her on the cruise but played the role of an oh-so-nice-and-supportive-half-sister-slash-best friend! Then she desired to have Ash's life ruined by encouraging Manager Kim to file a case against her, faking her concern by lending her $3 million. Such a bitch!"
"You nitwit!" Ashton scoffs, his eyes are dark and angry, there's a bitter coldness on his voice, "How dare you run your mouth and be a fucking know-it-all?!" He coughs, "Let go of me!"
My hands itch to choke him to death but I chose not to. My priority is to find where he locked up Ash and save her immediately.
My phone rings loudly. I stand up to answer the call, releasing my grip on Ashton's collar. It's Kelly, her voice sounds bowl over, "Tony, you won't believe this."
"Kelly cut the crap. What do you want to say? Did you find Ash?"
"Not yet but we found out who took her. Greg and I checked the CCTV around the area but there's no trace. Good thing that there's a hospital supply delivery truck parked at the back of the hospital and we asked for the driver to allow us to review the dashcam. There's a girl who looks exactly like...." Her voice trails off and I blank out, unable to breathe.
I gulp loudly, "No freaking way." My face is all white in alarm and denial.
Ashton "And yes, this kidnapping is due to someone's stupidity. Someone who've jumped into baseless conclusions."
And that's no other than me.
