Chapter Six- Cat~Cat Paradise

Twenty minutes later, you and Zane find yourself crouched next to the entrance of your house, trying to figure out how you'll get in without being seen. Kawaii~Chan, Katelyn, Aphmau, and Lucinda are all seated around your table, deep in conversation. Your main concern is Kawaii~Chan, but even if you get in without her seeing you, you're bound to get spotted by someone else, who will draw attention to you and doom you to a fate of Kawaii~Chan's squealing.

"Maybe if we sneak in and stick to the sides, she won't notice," Zane whispers, peeking around the corner.

"I doubt. One of the girls will notice, at least." You scan the room for any clear path through that doesn't result in you getting caught by Kawaii~Chan. If she sees you and Zane coming back into the house together, she'll probably assume you were on a date or something.

"Why don't we just go to my house?" Zane asks.

"Because I need to get my clothes, I'd rather not spend the whole day in a swimsuit," you say, gesturing to your current outfit. "Maybe we could go through the back door..."

"(Y/N)? Is that you?" The smooth voice of Lucinda comes from inside.

"Shit," you mutter. Figuring that there's no way out of it, you call, "Yeah, I'm here!"

"Ooh, is Zane~Kun there too?" Kawaii~Chan asks, her voice hopeful.

"Quick, into those bushes," you whisper, pushing Zane into the leaves behind you. "It's just me!"

Lucinda walks around the corner a moment later, a suspicious grin on her face.

"(Y/N), you're just the girl I was looking for," she purrs, a smirk making its way onto her lips.

"W-Why is that?"

"Because I made a new potion earlier and I need somebody to test it." Lucinda pauses. "Consider it an... orientation."

"N-No, I really shouldn't. I have places to be, and—" Before you can protest any more, Lucinda grabs your arm and drags you inside.

"(Y/N) is going to test my potion for me!"

"Ooh, good luck." Aphmau winces. "We might see you later. Might not."

"What's that supposed to mean!?" You exclaim. Aphmau laughs maniacally.

"Don't worry about Aphmau~Senpai, (Y/N)~Sama. She's just messing with you," Kawaii~Chan says. "Have fun!"

"Come on, (Y/N), let's go to my room." Lucinda grabs your arm again and hauls you upstairs to her bedroom. There's a potion bubbling in a pot, and it smells kind of like vanilla. That's a good sign. "Here, try this." Lucinda grabs a vial and dips it in the liquid, pulling it out and offering it to you.

"You're sure this is safe?" You ask, staring suspiciously at the potion.

"I'm positive. Kinda." Lucinda shakes her head. "It's fine, just go ahead."

"If you say so." You take a deep breath before draining the whole vial. "I feel normal so far."

"It should take effect about—" Lucinda begins, but she stops when you let out a shout of surprise. "Now."

Lucinda's words don't even reach your ears, as you're too busy staring, mouth agape, at your hands. Tiny, white hairs are sprouting from your palms, and your fingers start bending and shrinking backwards until they somewhat resemble paws. Two masses start growing from your head, and when you reach up to feel what they are, you quickly discover that they're ears, or at least something similar. You're so panicked at your sudden transformation that you don't even notice yourself getting smaller and smaller until you're eye-level with Lucinda's ankles.
