XVII.❦ "Nothing is going on."
Olivia walked down the corridor, pushing onto the buttons and typing in the number of her card so her groceries would stand ready for her to pay and take with her by the paying desk. Still, her mouth was dry, and her mind and eyesight a bit blurry. She mumbled to herself, got her laughing to herself before she scanned the tag of Red Label, smiling to herself. But suddenly, she heard the heard footsteps and looked over her shoulder, seeing a person dressed in total black looking at the liquor.
For a moment, heat rose to her head and her throat squeezed together, seeing the person wearing a hoodie over his head and his back to her. Her mind screamed at her and she quickly turned around, walking over to the paying desk and handing in her card.
The checkout assistant was quick to grab a bag filled with what she wanted and looked at Olivia. "This is all?" She said and smiled at Olivia, watching as Olivia's gaze fell upon the rack of cigarettes behind the woman. Her mouth fell open, hesitation prickling her fingertips. But upon missing the familiar cigarette names, she frowned.
"Do you have Camel?"
"No, it's sold out just like Pall Mall, should be there Tuesday again. We still do have Gauloises, it only smokes a bit heavier."
"I'm okay with that." Olivia smiled and the woman added the product to her price. Olivia payed before putting the whine, the chips, the fruit and the cigarette in my bag.
Throwing her bag with groceries in the trunk, Olivia sighed as the weight didn’t have to be lifted anymore before she slammed it shut. She walked around the car towards the driver's seat, but all of a sudden, shouting was heard from not too far away from her.
Olivia's head turned up, just in time to see the women behind the paying desk falling down as a shot was heard. Olivia gasped, staring at the entrance of the grocery store to see the person she had seen standing a few minutes before closer to her than now.. Eyes widened, though she remained frozen, watching the scene getting worse.
Police sirens filled the night air, a car coming to an abrupt halt just in front of the guy. But he was a smart person, jumping over the front of the car with one hand before he seemed to pull out his gun in seconds. Two police man went down before they could do something. Olivia gulped, but somehow couldn’t walk or look away. Her car was still right behind her, and she knew she should have just gotten in and had to drive away, but she didn’t.
Olivia watched the person running over towards her and when he was a little closer, she noticed light eyes sparkling in the moonlight as thick brown eyebrows were frowned. He suddenly turned around upon hearing yelling and another few gunshots were heard as moaning and groaning followed. After, it was extremely quiet as everyone who could stop the criminal, apart from Olivia, was dead.
The man stood still, a few yards away from her shaking frame and it was when she heard police sirens again, she snapped to reality and immediately dug in the key in her door, her breathing fast and the burning liquid she had just drank creeping it's way up her throat as if she was going to throw it up any second.
Olivia screamed bloody murder when she was roughly pushed against the car and was about to scream again when a hand wrapped around my throat and a cold metal object pressed against her temple. Olivia's eyes widened, her breathing hitching in the back of her throat.
Hot breath trickled into her ear, making her shiver in his hold as she stared into the street. Olivia waited and prayed to God for police to show up, hearing the sirens getting louder. But when the criminal already started to use his power on her, trying to get her to move, Olivia started to struggle. Trying to kick backwards, wiggle out of his grasp, bite into his hand, her arms grabbing him causing him to grab them with his other and push them roughly and painfully behind her back
