The Night

In the throne room Gregory waits for Emily to enter. He tries to kiss her. She turns her cheek. Gregory whispers grabbing her arm, "I'm going to be king so at least act like my queen."

He takes her over to the strategy table with a map. The king moves map pieces towards Spain towards Ferdinand, army general of Spain. Ferdinand moves more of the French army on the field. He already has less men of his territory on the map. King Gregory moves France pieces towards the enemy while leaving more back and putting Ferdinand's in the middle. Ferdinand moves the final pieces into the invading territory to the forest. King Gregory doesn't move pieces. He signals one of his men to bring the treaty.

Prince Gregory intervenes, "That's dangerous territory. No one cuts through there. It's suicide. Sending men to their death."

King Gregory, "It's the best way to gain advantage." His pen signing the treaty.

Emily joins in, "We will provide them with food and water."

King Gregory, "Why is she in here Gregory?"

Prince Gregory, "Soon we will be making the decisions."

Ferdinand chuckles from the pen, "We."

King, "Have you seen their armor that's their protection it's more than the food they need."

She knocks the food the server brings in and he automatically starts picking the food off the floor. "How will you do without food?"

She picks up her dress to leave and Gregory grabs her arm. With his hand he grabs to his face, I only tolerate you for my people to have peace."

Emily gives him a knifing glare, "This isn't love. You love power more than you could love a person." He glares at her then lets her go she almost falls to the ground. Gregory spins back towards the strategy table.
