I felt at ease at work.
With Hyung not around to make me feel like my every move would be a mistake, I was able to grow more in my work environment.
A customer lingered outside while Noona was tending to another customer as Renjun helped packed the stickers. I approached them with one of the catalogues, smiled and asked, "Hi, welcome. Looking for stickers?"
The customer—a woman who looked like she was twenty two—smiled back sweetly. She was tall and had perfect tan skin. Her eyes were beautiful, even behind those circle rim glasses and her hair was soft and flowy. Her outfit looked smart yet so casual, as if she was going to attend some business meeting on the beach. She held onto the seven year old boy next to her, and all thoughts of her being twenty two disappeared. She might as well be thirty one but look this young and beautiful. Goals. She nodded and took the book out of my hands.
I waited next to her as the customers Noona was tending made more requests for their stickers. They added more orders and it started to pile up but it wasn't all that bad. More sales for us.
"Excuse me," the woman from before said. I leaned in closer and tried to see what sticker she wanted. It was the biggest type in gold matte. "How much is this?"
"Minimum is you get 25 pieces. That will be 10, 000 won," I answered her smoothly. Over the past weeks, I had gotten familiar with the stickers—the sizes, the prices and the minimum pieces of each stickers.
The lady nodded and kept flipping through while her son continued to examine the toys displayed on racks right outside our shop. It wasn't at the hallway, though, so it wasn't blocking anyone's path.
After a while, the lady finally chose her sticker and I handed her a small piece of paper and pen for her to write down what she wanted on the sticker. I flipped the page of the catalogue and asked her to pick a font style. I waited as she wrote and once she was done, she handed it to me, together with the book. I bowed, placed the catalogue in its original place and headed to where all of the stickers were placed. I began searching for the sticker roll and found it eventually. I placed the piece of paper together with the rubber band that contained the sticker roll to prevent it from falling out and placed it on the small counter right next to the sticker printer, where a few other sticker rolls sat on top, pending.
