Walking down the streets tonight felt strange, a little bit though. I whistled without a care in the world.I mean,who am I to worry about anything? I only got one life, and utilising it to the fullest was my mission. Friday nights had only one definition: The Palace.My weekends were spent hanging out here.I smiled at the bouncer and walked straight to the drinks bar.
"Hey,Gwen.The usual?"
"You know me Danny," I took a seat and waited as he took a bottle of tequila from the shelf.
"So,how's your life?"
"Incomplete," he replied as he poured me some tequila.
"Take heart hun,she'll be back to her senses soon. I stared around for a while before walking down to the basement with my glass,silently singing along to the music in the background. My life revolved around three things:Family,education,fun.I hated getting close to people or getting too attached coz I knew that someday they'd leave,and I could not handle that
There was no one at the basement. Come on!!How am I supposed to hang out alone! The phone beeped in my pocket and I put my tequila on the table." Hey,little one! "
"You better get your stupid ass here Gwen Brooklyn You promised to help me with some work"
"Just relax,Frankie.it's a weekend for heaven's sake." You better not get drunk, you know dad-"
"Oh,you mean the man who left for a trip to around the world?Besides, am not getting drunk anyway. I told you I quit ," I sip my drink and replace the glass on the table.
"Please be home early? And sober?"
"OK now,bye!" I hang up. Then I sat down n stared around.
"Hey," Danny said.
"My love,you're here!" I watch his face for his reaction. "Right I won't be all creepy.
" The guys will be here any moment. They just had to pick up someone. "
"Someone?Someone who?"
"someone Jason Turner."Fuck!
" Say what now?Tell me you're kidding. "
"I ain't." The last time I saw him,we clashed real bad.He owned this place and a couple other casinos and businesses."You fear him,"
"I'm too constipated to give a shit about him.So...how goes it with Eva?What you did to her?"
"Don't telle we're talking about this again!" Eva,Maddie and Cliff walk down the stairs, and behind them was he-Jason freaking Turner.Wait,it had been only been a year,right?How could someone grow so amazing in such a short time!He was in a pair of black jeans, a black tee with a black leather jacket and black veezy boots. His hair,dark as his heart,was perfect and on his face was his typical carefree look. He walked past us,sat down and gulped down my tequila.
"Why stare?You can always take a picture." he says with a smirk.
"Yeah,sure. I love taking pics of natural disasters.
Jason's Pov
No one puts me down, bit this girl had ego,and guts. She had brunette waist length hair with a few white strands on the left side of her scalp and a beauty spot that complimented her beautiful lips lay just above her lips.On her left brow was a stud,and a tattoo that read 'sisters' lay on her wrist.She looked at me expressionlessly then smiled wrily.
" I'll need an assistant. We need to start the new job. Brooklyn?"I look at her ,cross my legs and stretchmy arm out over her shoulder.
"Why me?I can't stand you." She gets up quickly,and I stare at her body;the beautiful neck,inviting chest; I could only imagine what lay behind that cloth she was wearing. And oh,the flat belly and rounded hips that wouldn't be so bad in my hands...fuck!Why didn't I notice these features before!
"Because I say so," I stand up and whisper into her ear.She gives me a murderous look and pours herself some tequila then gulps it down."Work starts..now. I hope my office is ready?"
"Yeah,I had it cleaned earlier,Maddie replies.
" Thanks,"I pull Gwen with me."Can I get my name tattooed on you, Brooke?"
"Call me Gwen,and no.No tattoos of your name."
"You've grown hotter Brooke.Want some coffee?Black or white?"
"I love my coffee the way I love myself;dark,bitter n too hot for you,J.Seems there's no banging life today, I'll head home.Sleep tight,Turner." She walks out.It don't matter. We got be together for a long long time, Gwen Brooklyn.
