Ugh!This is really getting out of hand.I look down at my watch;only two minutes left till the lesson ends.Then I can get back to the hotel,freshen up and go to the HQs.A meeting had been scheduled so we could try and get to Jason through the phone.When my time was up,I logged out of the website,shut down my laptop and drove to the hotel.Eva,Danny,Katie and Hunter were having snacks.Maddie and Cliff were up in Jason's room,and McAnjay was charging.After a quick shower,we took the conversion van,with Tecna directing the journey."Where's April?"
"She went out shopping,but she'll join us on time."Hunter replies as his phone beeps annoyingly."It's Frankie."
"Great!"I sigh as Hunter receives the call,putting it on loud speaker.
"Hey there...Hunter."
"Frankie!Is everything alright?"
"I should be asking you that.Its almost a week already,and you ain't back.And Gwen isn't answering any of my calls.She has school,you know."
"Yeah...i know that.We'll be back in...two days."Fool!Stupid fool!
"For real?I'll see Gwen in two days?Great!I'll go tell dad;he had planned to have someone come get her."I stared at Hunter and he just shook his head at me.
"Hey,Frankie,"Cliff says through the phone.
"I'll talk to you later then,"she ignores him and hangs up.
"What the hell have you done?!"I slap the back of Hunter's head.
"I didn't know what to say,Sonakshi.You heard the girl;her dad would send someone to come get her!"he replies,feigning my accent.
"Dimwit!"
"Our Indian girl is adorable when mad,"he laughs as Katie walks to him.
"You said it all,"she laughs as she sits beside him,taking his hand in hers.
"Cliff you know how Frankie-"
"I don't wanna talk about it."Oh.
April was already there,seated behind the computer,headphones in.
"Oh,hi April,"I greet,but she doesn't turn to look at us."Woman!"I pull out the headphones and she looks back.
"Oh,you guys are here.Are we set?"
"Totally,just try to connect to them.McAnjay could you please try to fix the wires behind the CPU?"Hunter says,and McAnjay turns to do as told.
"There...Oh my God...its connecting!"We had given Jason a small gadget which we'd use for communication purposes,but it had been hell trying to connect to him.We were not actually sure it would even work,it was just a trial and error kind of thing."Hey there,brotherman."
"Wow,April.Finally!"
"Are you guys ok?Where's Gwen?"
"Oh,she's out,exploring."
"So you guys are on a vacation yet we're working our butts off to get you back,"I say.
"Frankie called today.She said that her dad is to send for Gwen if she doesn't come back soon.And the ambassador is to appear at a public function in I think two days;with his family,"Hunter fills him in.
"We're almost done fixing the machine,so you guys better be ready.If all goes well,you should be here in time for that."
"Oh,You-"he's cut off when we lose the connection.
"Ugh!!Let's get to work people.,"April gets up.
"Maddie,Cliff,take care of Tecna.Eva and Danny,you guys submit Gwen's assignments online and update her social media.I'll arrange a meeting of the pack to inform them of our next step."
"I'll just get back to fixing my machine,"I walk away.
