It was the dead of night but the flashes of bright red and orange flame could be seen from the horizon, the smoke engulfing a nearby town being ravaged by unknown attackers.
"Run, I said to myself." said young Tali, his village is under attack by unknown creatures, the last thing he remembered was that his mom and dad were covering him and his sister from what could only be seen as a hulking figure.
"Run Tali, take Thalia and save yourselves!" said his father before being stabbed through the stomach by the creature's tail, it was horrifying and as if he could still remember it freshly from his memory. Cuddling his sister slowly to prevent them from being heard by whatever those horrors are that killed their parents
Keeping himself strong despite his aching legs, he was tired all night from running, fear and despair took hold of him. But no, he needed to be strong for himself, for the survival of both their lives. "Come Thalia.." he whispered slowly. Putting his little sister on his back while slowly walking away from the tall tree they rested on. "But big brother, how about mom and da..sniff..sniff" his little sister could'nt even finish what she was about to say and started crying once again. "Hush, little one or we'll be good as dead." said Tali with a tempered tone. He knew that if even one of them would be heard by the creatures, they would be following their parents in the afterlife.
After hours of walking, Tali stumbled on to the ground while Thalia struggled to keep her balance. Looking back at the distance they could still see the smoke and fire of their once beloved village and hear the cries of those being slain. "Those creatures; whatever they are, didn't just came to pillage resources, they came for flesh and blood." said Tali to himself. He remembered as when he was running away with Thalia in his hand that a pregnant woman was getting gorged open by one of the creatures, sucking away all of her flesh like it was sheep grazing on grass. He was curious however about that attack. They we're never attacked before, and they we're a peaceful village with no enemies, how come we're they to have such fate? Tali grinned. The sun rising from the horizon as the screams stopped but the fires are still burning. After a few hours there was only smoke to be seen.
And so is the cycle of all things to begin anew when the sun rises. Well, he could do nothing more but survive in this land filled with horrors and hope to see those that could deem them justice to whatever happened to their parents and their village. In this land where night will take upon the souls of the unwary and where day would be a beacon of new hope for the upcoming future....Seleznya.
