The day of the wedding was approaching, and with having more than their fair share of work, Damian and Lilian were drowning in work. Not only did Damian have to oversee the décor of the event, but he also had meetings with almost every official that was coming. Lilian wasn't let off so easily either. Managing the banquet, her wedding dress, the groom's attire, choosing rings, and overlooking the invitations. Not to mention, learning the responsibilities of a chief's wife.

"Hmmm, let's see...invitations, check, food, check, rings, in progress...I feel like I'm forgetting something." She questioned.

"What about your dress?" A voice asked.

"Huh?!" She asked confused.

She turned around to see a familiar, but naughty, face. It was Damian who, once again, had snuck away from his duties. He had to be at a council meeting to discuss final preparations for tomorrows ceremony. It seemed that the council was still getting used to him.

Lilian, on the other hand, had managed to win over almost everybody. The household had grown very close to her over the two weeks that she'd been there. Especially the housemaids. After all her lessons and duties, she still makes time to help the maids out with whatever duties they have left. If there's nothing to do, then she'd make them a small snack or treat to make up for it. The council had also grown fond of her, but they'd never let her know. They all knew that Lilian was a far better candidate to marry Damian, seeing as how she's one of the humblest Lady of the house than anyone before her.

"You know that everyone is praising you instead of me? Saying that, 'Damian is so lucky to have Lilian by his side'." He said a bit hurt.

"Oh, and why is that such a bad thing?" She asked him.

"Well, it's not. But I still want a little credit for being my awesome self." He said triumphantly.

"Ah, yes. You're so amazing, so much so, that I don't deserve you. Being a mere commoner and all. Maybe it'd be best if you married that Fox girl instead." She mocked.

Those words erupted a look of disgust on Damian's face. He'd always despised the Fox clan, in fact so did the council. The only reason the council decided it would be best for the alliance of the two clans, was being the position of power. Over time the Fox clan had gain power by allying, and betraying, clans of power and bring others down. It was the exact opposite of what the Wolf clan did. The Wolf clan was known for its loyalty, once they swore alliance to another clan, they'd been known to keep it, till the end of time. The two clans had risen to power in opposite ways, and so both were threatened by each other.

"Please don't mention her.... I'd rather marry a toad than one of those back-stabbing Foxes." He said, with a far more serious tone than expected.

"But then why would-" She began to ask.

All of a sudden, the ground started to shake, and cracks began to form. The clouds in the sky turned dark as if they'd been painted black. Thunder and lightning danced chaotically, as the shaking continued. Damian grabbed Lilian and moved away from the crack in the ground.

Over the horizon, they saw, a shadowy figure with glowing eyes, pointed ears, multiple tails and the aura of a powerful demon. As it got close, Damian recognized it as his former fiancé. The rage in her eyes was unmistakable. Her flowing blood orange hair, dark brown eyes, pale skin, and rosy lips, made her undeniably beautiful. Her rage was on par with her beauty.

"You insult to wolves! How dare you go back on your word?!" The girl screamed.

With a wave of her hand, she sent a giant ball of blue fire hurling towards the two. Damian quickly dodged and placed Lilian outside the house behind two guards.
