"What....WHAT?!" Damian screamed.

Everyone in the room looked at the female and then to the son, who was sitting there with his jaw wide open. His father looked at her with eyes wide open as if he was putting together the pieces of a puzzle. Many of the servants and guards started whispering. Damian leaned over to whisper in her ear.

"Um, why am I finding this out now?" He whispered.

"I'll explain later, just trust me for now." She whispered back.

Determined to tell her part of the story, she straightened up, rolled her shoulders back and her chin up.

"Sir I fell in love with your son, and with your permission, I would like to be with him for as long as I can." She said in a calm voice.

"And what if I say no?" He said in a harsh voice.

"I'll marry him anyway. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have your blessing but I won't let that affect the fact that I will marry him. No matter what, I will stay with him." She proclaimed.

Looking at him without fear she stood her ground. He seemed a bit annoyed but sighed out of defeat. He looked sharply at his son.

"Learn to control yourself if you dare say you're a man. Take some responsibility you ass!" He yelled.

Taken back by his father's response, he looked at Lilian with a 'why am I getting yelled at?' face. She choked back a snicker, which to Damian, was not appreciated.

"The high council will be chaotic when they hear of this...I'll try and calm them down. Until then don't mess anything else up!" He shouted.

After five minutes of just glaring at them, they both left the room and made their way toward the gardens.

"So, um...WHEN WERE YOU GOING TO TELL ME THAT YOU'RE PREGNANT?!" He screamed, she covered her ears.

"I'm not pregnant...I just knew that there would be no other way to convince your father. I didn't mean to trick him, it's just...I want to be with you. I don't want anyone to take that away." She said quietly.

"Wait, it was all a plan to get his blessing?" He asked.

"Yeah, but to be honest, it kind of sounded like you didn't like marrying me if I'm pregnant." She said suspiciously.

"It's not that, it's just-I'm scared about what would happen to the baby if my father didn't approve? What would happen to you?" He said.

Taking her hands, he looked at them, seeing what the future might look like he smiled. His eyes squinting and getting small wrinkles, cheeks rising and teeth showing, seeming so happy. Imagining him showing her his world, things she's never seen before and having a family together made him feel a warm sensation he's never experienced before.

Gazing into her eyes, warm and innocent, he felt the urge to be a little mischievous. Leaning in close, he whispered in her ear.

"Well, even if it was a lie, sooner or later it'll be true." He whispered slyly.

Drawing back, he saw her face turning red, her eyes wide open and her jaw seemed to drop. A childish grin appeared on his face, along with a chuckle, in response to her reaction.

"Y-You! T-T-That- how could you say something like that and not feel embarrassed?!" She exclaimed.

"Haha! I wanted to see how you'd react. As expected, your reactions are priceless!" He laughed.

She pouted her lips and her eyebrows sunk to show anger. Quickly turning away, her arms crossed, she let out a huff. Smiling, he leaned in close, wrapping his arms around her waist. He rested his head on her shoulder and let out a long sigh. This seemed to raise some concern in her as her expression softened.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"Just think, soon, we'll be married. Can you imagine, us, starting a family together?" He asked.

"I can, but are you sure you want to be with me? I am a human after all, and it doesn't seem like your dad approves of me..." She opened up.

"Give him time, you know how parents are. For now, let's just be glad we're both still alive after what just happened." He explained.

She turned to face him, seeing his deep blue eyes that seemed too cold to the world but warm to her. How did this happen? How did two people so different, worlds apart even, learn to put aside their differences and love each other? As they two were distracted looking at one another, a pair of pessimistic eyes fell upon the pair.

"AHEM!" A voice cried out.

The two turned to look at Damian's father scowling at them. They both separated themselves and stood three feet apart. Coming closer, the old man seemed to also feel some embarrassment from the scene he just witnessed.

"I've talked to the council and convinced them about the matter of your marriage, somehow. The wedding will take place in two weeks. As for now don't get into unnecessary trouble with anyone else." His father explained.

"Two weeks?! Isn't that a little too fast?" He asked.

"Well I apologize for any inconvenience, but if you didn't notice the council isn't too happy with this matter." His father retaliated.

"Right, sorry..." He said, defeated.

A surprised look appeared on his face as he heard those two words. The fact is, before this day, he has never heard the words 'thank you' or 'sorry' from his son's mouth.

"You've changed...I guess I have you to thank. What is your name?" His father said, turning to look at her.

"Ah, it's Lilian sir." She said softly.

"Hmm, well maybe you could teach my son some basic manners." He said to her.

"But he's already very well-mannered." She answered.

"If he was he would think twice about making a defenseless human girl pregnant!" He screamed.

She stifled a laugh, at which Damian started glaring. It seems as though the lie worked, and though she felt bad about lying to his father, she also felt some relief. Although she hadn't fully been welcomed into the family, she'd already felt their warmth. It had been a very long time since she felt like this. The last time was probably, no, it was with her aunt. It would seem, for the first time in her life, someone was going to stay beside her. It seemed for a brief while, she wouldn't be alone.

Sorry guys, I had exams and graduations  2 months ago and on top of that I went outside the country. I know I shouldn't make excuses but I'm sorry. I understand if you are upset or annoyed but thank you for hanging in there. I'll return to my normal wifi soon. ^///^
