chapter twenty-one ▬▬▬ real life

ZELLA LOOKED DOWN at her mother's grave as her father walked back over too her. Pulling him closer Zella placed her head in her father's shoulder.

"I'm really glad I lied to you about her anniversary." Zella said breaking the silence.

"Yeah me too." Josh replied looking down at his daughter. "I should have never left." Josh told her.

"What are you talking about?" She asked him as she pulled away to look at her father.

"I should have stayed with you mother. I would have been able to see you grow up." Josh explained.

"But you didn't. I don't blame you for not being in my life, mom didn't tell you about me. And if she had you wouldn't be where you are now with acting." Zella replied as she watched her father closely. "I wouldn't go back in time and change anything." She added as a small smile appeared on her lips.

"Why not?" Josh asked her curious of her answer.

"Because, I moved out to Los Angeles to live with you. I met two great people who are in fact my best friends. And most importantly I'm living my dream of music. I've always wanted to be a singer, and moving out here gave me so many opportunities. I really wouldn't change any of that. Plus there's someone else in my life who I could have a possible future with." She explained.

"And who might this mystery person be?" He asked getting his father side on.

"I'm not going to tell you. You'll find out when I'm ready to talk about him." Zella replied.

"Well, if you need to talk boy talk you can always go to your step-mom." Josh informed her.

"I know." Zella said as the two started walking towards the car again. "Thank you again for not being mad at me about mom." Zella added.

"I could never get mad at you for doing that. But we are coming back for her anniversary." Josh told her watching a large smile fold onto Zella's lips.

"Well, I look forward to it." She replied climbing into the car.
