No One POV
It was perhaps fate that had gave pity to the 4 boys a second chance. Or perhaps it was just all pure luck they had survived the explosion. This had happened once to Hoseok already, almost traumatizing him. He had remembered how he and his two other members almost suffocated to death as smoke and ash entered their lungs, slowly eating away the fresh air. However this was different than that other time, this time they weren't in a tiny crowded space. But that didn't mean it was easier, rather it was quite the opposite.
Ringing was the only thing Hoseok heard, his head spinning as he tried to recover. He felt his head throbbing in pain, feeling as if someone had continuously hit him. He tried opening his eyes, only to end up closing them again as ash burned his eyes. Shit, he muttered to himself. This was not at all part of whatever plan Namjoon had in mind.
"Hey, get up. We have to go," Jimin's voice was croaky, raspy as the smoke engulfed his lungs. He didn't want to stay inside the room any longer, outside the rest waited for them. His arms supported his hyung, letting Hoseok lean against the other. They struggled to walk, debris and broken boxes littered the floor.
None of them realized the explosive barrels inside the room, perhaps an emergency use when Dr. Lee or Soyi had to quickly kill them or escape. Whatever form it was supposed to be used, it eventually did the job as the two father and daughter escaped. Knowing the explosion was near them, the two wouldn't have been far.
With every step Namjoon took felt like a jab in the foot. He was supporting Jin as he was still a bit shook from the explosion that fired them back to the wall. It was loud, and smoke began flowing out the window. No doubt the walking corpses outside heard all of this. This was a death trap, which made sense as to why they were taken all the way to the top part of the building, so when something like this would happen, zombies from the ground would be waiting for their food. It was a thought out plan by people who wanted their enemies dead. But, to Namjoon there was one thing he realized over time: Zombies were dumb, only relying on their hearing and poor eyesight. Escaping a place like this wouldn't be too difficult, if done correctly and with the proper plan - which at the moment he doesn't. The lack of fresh air couldn't make him concentrate, the only thing in his mind was to find a safe place to regroup.
Limping outside through the door, his hands held onto the nearest railing he could find, supporting his sleep deprived body. He gasped as the air became much more easy to breathe, coughing as he heard the other two also made themselves out.
"Is everyone okay?" Namjoon breathed out, trying to find his balance. He was scanning the three, looking for any severe injuries. To his relief, only minor cuts and bruises that could easily be healed were the case. However, he also had to note that those open cuts needed to be closed off, not wanting to risk any zombie blood to seep through and infect them. It didn't matter whether the antidote was already in them, it was never tested on and could possibly not even prevent the virus.
"My lungs feel like it's going to burst but I felt worse," said Jin.
"I'll take that as a yes," Namjoon swatted the smoke away from his face, scrunching in displeasure. His body was tired, aching from head to toe. He held a groan back, trying to muffle out as much noise as possible. He couldn't risk any zombies getting attracted to them, especially when they weren't in a proper state to fight.
He proceeded to slowly make his way down the stairs, the three following behind. He didn't know if the others were already down at floor level, although he assumed they could be in a pickle if the two Lee's were still trying to escape. Possibly, all of them had ran into each other.
"Get off me!"
This answered the leader's question. He knew who's voice it was. Their voice was drained out of energy, yet still willing to put up a fight. There was no time for resting, lives were going to be taken today, and Namjoon knew who's it was. He quickly ran downstairs, ignoring the protests from the three behind him. He hissed as he felt pain in the left side of his waist, yet refused to stop. He was eager to end all this madness, to end the Lee's crazy experiments.
