Chapter 6

Cinderkit/paw's pov

Cinderkit woke up to Dolphinstar's call. Her mother Valleycloud was ushering the kits out of the nursery and under the Slanted High-Ledge. Cinderkit went to her group of friends and sat down. Ackleypaw was already there with all the kits.

"Welcome! Duskystar and i would like to first have a warrior and medicine cat ceremony." Dolphinstar announced, her sapphire-frost eyes showing gratitude and happiness. The orange tom stepped forward.

"We would like to give Saffronspeck, Kitkat and Springbear their full place as medicine cats, also Jewelsand and Falconfur are going to become elders, may their healing skills they passed on be remembered forever and and we will always remember the gratitude and kindness they gave to the clan as they become elders." Duskystar finished his speech and everyone cheered their names.

"Jewelsand! Falconfur!" The clan cheered, and the two cats dipped their heads and paddd over to where the other elders were.

"Now, Saffronspeck, Kitkat, Springbear do you promise to heal and serve your clan til you go to AuroraClan?" Dolphinstar asked them and they nodded.

"We do." They all said.

"Then we now announce that they are full medicine cats!" Duskystar announces cheerfully.

"Saffronspeck! Kitkat! Springbear!" The clan cheered happily as they seated themselves next to Cycloneheart and Huckleberry.

"Now. Orchidpaw, Sunflowerpaw, Cloverpaw and Fleurpaw come forward for your warrior ceremonies." Dolphinstar called to the apprentices.

They trotted forward eagerly, stopping underneath the Slanted High-Ledge. Their different coloured pelts made them stand out more easily.

"Do you promise to defend and fight for your clan even in bad circumstances and uphold the truth and respect of your friends and clan mates at the cost of your life?" Duskystar looked at each one of them as they nodded.

"We do!"

"Then by the powers of AuroraClan we name Orchidpaw from now on you will be called Orchidfang for your bitterness but funniness. You are named after the great Jawfang, he was just like you."

"Orchidfang!" The clan cheered wildly.

"Sunflowerpaw from now on you will be named Sunflowerstem for your bright happiness that spreads through us. You are named after Fusciastem because she was kind and she always made people happy no matter what." Dolphinstar looked down at the young warrior and smiled.

"Sunflowerstem!"

"Cloverpaw from now on you will be named Cloverfern because you may seem to hide but you don't like to run. You are named after Skyfern."

"Cloverfern!"

"Lastly. Fleurpaw. Your warrior name is now Fleurface, you don't let others decide for you and you have a mind of your own. You're named after Quollface."

"Fleurface!"

"Now for the kits. Step forwards kits." Dolphinstar's white pelt blew in the wind.

"You apprentices have reached the 6 moon mark and are ready to become apprentices." Duskystar shook his orange pelt and kept going. "Dragonflower's kits, step forward." All the kits trotted forwards keeping their tails high. Honeykit's was the lowest, as if she was too embarrassed.

"Dropkit, until your a warrior you will be Droppaw and your mentor will be Sunriseflow, Weedkit you will be Weedpaw and your mentor will be Serpentstorm, Dawnkit will be Dawnpaw and your mentor will be Blazeflame, Honeykit you will be Honeypaw and your mentor will be Halcyonpelt."

"Droppaw! Weedpaw! Dawnpaw! Honeypaw!" The clan cheered. Duskystar nodded for Dolphinstar to take over for a minute.

Dolphinstar went onto Acaciaseed's kits, Simmerkit became Simmerpaw and her mentor is Chillifly, Colouredkit became Colouredpaw and her mentor is Tydrop, Ombrékit became Ombrépaw and her mentor is Silversip and then Briarkit became Briarpaw and her mentor is Hibiscusgem.

"Simmerpaw! Colouredpaw! Ombrépaw! Briarpaw!" The chant of the clan ringed through the trees.

"Lindsaystream's kits step forward." Dolphinstar called to them. Tilleykit nervously padded fowards.

Don't worry. You can do it. Cinderkit told her in her mind.

Yep. You can. Ackleypaw was also in his head, communicating with her.

Thanks. Tilleykit responded and looked up at their leaders.

"Wirekit will be Wirepaw and his mentor will be Mountainfrost. Wrenkit will now be Wrenpaw and your mentor will be Sapphireglow. Tilleykit...." Dolphinstar trailed off, looking around at the cats. "Your mentor will be Billyshiver."

"Wirepaw! Wrenpaw! Tilleypaw!" Now Valleycloud's kits got called. Great im last. Cinderkit thought with a little sigh.

"Unitedpaw your mentor is now Cloverfern, Islandpaw your mentor is now Fleurface, Grasspaw your mentor is Sunflowerstem and Brackenpaw.......your mentor is now Jackdawbright." Duskystar gestured then to go over to their mentors.

"Unitedpaw! Islandpaw! Grasspaw! Brackenpaw!" Cinderkit saw Brackenpaw slightly shrink away from the spotlight.

"Lastly, Duskfeather's kits." Dolphinstar mewed slowly. Oh no. AuroraClan help me. I'm gonna mess up.

Just imagine you do it fine, it helps. Ackleypaw's voice appeared in her head.

She imagined herself doing it fine and getting it over and done with.

"Elkpaw your mentor will be Lilacmist, Lunarpaw your mentor is Skylarspark, Cedarpaw your mentor is Confettibranch, Wolfpaw....Acaciaseed has reported that she is becoming a warrior again! So Wolfpaw Acaciaseed is your mentor!" Dolphinstar waited til the clan cheered Acaciaseeds name.

"Acaciaseed!"

Cinderkit then realised she was next. Her breath quickened a little as she had to force herself to be calm. She hoped that Saffronspeck had told Dolphinstar or Duskystar about training as a medicine cat.

"Cinderkit.............." Dolphinstar trailed off and what seemed like forever was only a minute or so. "Your mentor will be...........hmm......" Cinderkits pit of calmness perished and she yet again became shaky. "Your mentor will be Saffronspeck, i hope you can pass down as much information as possible. You will now be Cinderpaw." Her breathing slowed and she felt less stressed and she felt happiness in her pit of stress.

"Elkpaw! Lunarpaw! Cedarpaw! Wolfpaw! Cinderpaw!" The clan cheered. The clan parted and started congratulating the new warriors and apprentices. Cinderpaw watched all the happy faces of the cats as time begun to slow right down. She looked to the entrance of camp, where a black figure with green eyes was looking straight at her. She also saw another pair of green eyes, blue eyes and also orange eyes. She blinked and then they were gone.

Are we cursed by some creatures or something? No one responded but she was glad that no one did because she didn't want them to.

She was confused. She turned around. Ackleypaw was right next to her, so was Tilleypaw, Lunarpaw, Cedarpaw and Wolfpaw.

"Don't worry, your eyes weren't deceiving you." Cedarpaw said, looking straight at the place that Cinderpaw had seen the cats.
