Kassidy's PoV
Two weeks ago my mom told me the news "I'm sorry to tell you two this but in two weeks we are moving to South Newberry" I understand why we have to move there but the sad thing is I am not sad. I have no friends here because everyone believes that magic gems exist and never let you die if you wear it around your neck. The only person I hang out with is my little sister Kamri. She is cool and all (for a 3rd grader) but it is lonely.
"Mom where did you put my MacBook case"... No response, great. I walk down the steps and see the weirdest kid in my school. He has buck teeth, a weird haircut, and carries those gems with him everywhere.
"Honey," says mom "the Howards came to say goodbye and give us each a gift, come join us". I walk down the steps and stand next to Kamri. She whispers to me "This kid is a weirdo" I look down and nod my head to her. The weirdo stepped toward me and gave me this stupid looking gem. "This is a special gem that can show you the truth," said the weirdo. "Thanks, I guess" I look down at Kamri laughing her head off "Shut up Kamri" Then he gave this weird stuffed bear and said there is a gem inside that can bring it to life, she said thank you and they left, thank god.
Today is the day we move 4,000 miles from that creepy town. It was a 7-hour drive (4-hour flight). 7 hours later we arrived at this really nice house. I stepped in, walked upstairs, and found the biggest room in the house (besides the master bedroom) put my stuff down, and went downstairs. Kamri was already whining that she was hungry and we have no food. I walked outside and saw two girls sitting on the grass talking and I decided to walk up to them and introduce my self.
