Aaron came through the front room door to a mass of expectant faces. Ashton ran into his arms.

"Thank God your safe".

" Im fine sweetie".

Billy looked at Aaron.

"Dude where's Lucy, Zak and Nick"

Aaron sat down.

"In hospital Lucy's fine, Nick had a dislocated shoulder but Zak's in a bad way we nearly lost him they where operating on him as I left to stop internal bleeding."

"Aaron what the hell happend?" Jay said.

"So Carter has been arrested for abduction, multiple accounts of assault attempted murder of Zak and actual murder turns out he killed detective Moss it was him that sent the email.

Aaron finished his story.

"Oh my god... Poor Lucy" Becky said.

"You girls where very lucky yesterday that guy was dangerous he could of done anything to you". Billy said directed at Amanda and Becky.

"But he didn't Billy we are fine". Amanda said putting her hand in his.

"Aaron you look exhausted you haven't slept in nearly two days come to bed for a bit." Said Ashton.

"I will but I have to ring Jess let her know what's happend we probably won't go home now till Zak's better.

Lucy had fallen asleep with her head on Nicks lap she was physically and mentally wiped out her around her eyes was all puffy and red she had literally cried herself to sleep. Nick had put his hoodie over her for warmth.

Just then a doctor approached them

"Lucy Groff?"

"Lucy wake up sis the doctor is here"

Lucy woke with a start.

"Is it Zak? Is he ok?"

"He's a very lucky man, we have managed to stop the bleeding and he is now sleeping off the anaesthetic we need to keep him in for a week or so to make sure he's healing ok and he doesn't have any infection".

"Can we see him?"

"Of course follow me"

Nick was about to follow when a police detective tapped him on the shoulder.

Lucy entered Zak's recovery room her heart broke to see him laying there weak and helpless she had one thought in her head he's alive he made it. She wiped fresh tears from her eyes, pulled a chair up close to the side of his bed and took hold of his hand and just watched him as he slept.

There was a knock at the door.

"Hey sis how is he?" Nick said gently.

"He's sleeping".

"Listen I have to go back to the house with the police Carter had planted a webcam in your room they need to get it as part of the evidence."

Lucy's stomach turned as Nick told her this knowing that he has indeed been watching her every move but it was well and truly over now there was no way he could get her ever again.

"Will you be ok? I need to call V as well and let her and Bella know that you are safe."

"Yeah Nick go and get some rest while your at it."

"Ok you have your phone back don't you? Will you call once lazy boy here decides to wake up"

Lucy nodded as she got up and hugged her Brother. He held her tightly and sighed knowing that she was ok. Nick then left and Lucy went back to her place at Zak's bedside.
