Hope you enjoy the original version for now!
Happy reading~° OWEN °
I drummed my fingers along the oak desk as I waited for an idea to magically pop into my head. Normally something did, but other times not so much. I stared blankly at the fresh page in a new book. I always thought, 'to start a new book it must be your best'. My past few books proved my thoughts wrong.
I spun myself around on the chair to see if anything in my room could inspire me, taking in the colours and decor. My room wasn't very big nor was it small, I would have loved an American sized bedroom, I could fit so much more stuff in there.
My walls were boring plain white but decorated with posters and pictures. The one picture was a signed autograph from when I met Hannah Spearritt. My favourite actress. Alongside the picture were posters that ranged from small to large. Most were bands I liked: Loona, Twice, and a few odd ones being movie posters.
Spinning once more, I turn to see more of my room. Along with the posters and photo was a large self which ran along the entire right side of my room. There wasn't much on the left due to the window being in the way. On each shelf were different trinkets of mine, small lego structures, model ships, and mini characters from games.
I turned to my left side. The light from the evening sun shined into my room, the slight warmth hit my exposed arms. On the shelf were my favourite books and albums. The books were mainly horror or fantasy, the albums are the owners of my posters.
A faint knock at the door had me spinning once again. The door creaked open and my mothers head peered in, her hazel hair fell from behind her ear and covered her cheek, the rest fell over her shoulder. A soft smile on her face which made her cheeks even pinker than normal.
"Hello, dear." Her voice is sweet like honey, she never got mad.
"Hey, mum," I spoke quietly. "Is everything okay?" She nodded slightly.
"Yep, just telling you that dinner is almost ready."
"Thanks, I'll be down in a minute." I'm the only person in the house that followed the 'I'll be down in a minute' saying.
"Great." A larger smile grew. "Don't forget to clean up." I nodded before she left.
I turned back to my desk, the plain page still looking at me, maybe after dinner. I close the book with my index finger and sigh deeply. I hated when your mind just blocked. Sliding my chair back I rose from the leather seat. I pushed it back neatly under the desk and headed out into the hallway.
The lights were brightly gleaming which made the pictures on the wall shine. Pictures of me, Olivia, and my mum. Most of these photos were taken on family trips or even when we're down at the High Street or Village.
I headed towards the bathroom so I could clean myself up before dinner. As me hand reached to take the handle a heavy force knocked me of course. After I finished stumbling and stabled myself, Olivia took the handle in her own hand.
"Oops sorry, but you know what they say, beauty first." With a flick of her hair, she entered the bathroom.
I didn't take the words to heart, she said worse things to me. I had a huge problem with my confidence and always panicked about how people saw me. This is a thing which Olivia always dug her heels into, she's done this since secondary school.
With a bigger deep breath I walked down the stairs, it would have been easier to clean up in the kitchen.
The TV was switched on and my mum's favourite show was playing. Bones. The living room was larger than my room, obviously, but it wasn't large either. It was big enough to seat five people on the couches and I don't know about them standing. The walls are painted cream and brown, cream at the top and brown at the bottom, a small border split both colours. On the border was Chinese writing, the Han characters meaning family and peace.
I turn to the dining room where the table is already set. The dining room is painted the same but the colours were lighter, the Han characters turn to French and saying bon appétit. My mum loves languages but she doesn't know a whole lot. Just French, Spanish, And Russian but is learning Chinese.
"Is that you honey?" Talking about my mum her voice charms in my ears.
"Yeah." I walk into the kitchen.
Steam was floating from the pots on the hob and from the meat in her hands. She places the plate into the counter then turns to me. Her face slightly red and sweaty.
"Could you help me with the vegetables, please. If I leave the meat Blackmist will eat it." As the words leave a small black cat wanders into the room.
"Talking about her." We both chuckle as I walk over to the hop.
The vegetables steaming nicely.

I sit at the table with Olivia and mum, we don't do anything but look at each other. The room was quiet and no one saying anything. Which is a big surprise since Olivia is always talking and doesn't shut up about her life and drama.
"So when is he arriving?" My mum breaks the silence.
"He's just messaged me, he's here." Without another word or hearing mums reply, she rises from her seat and leaves.
"Who's here?" I ask not knowing who Olivia invited this time.
"Logan." My stomach begins to grow a deep pit.
My eyes fall onto the two figures walking in the room, Olivia's head resting on Logan's shoulder. He was wearing a plaid grey shirt which was engulfed by a large light grey jacket, along with them were a pair of black tight skinny jeans and a pair of white converse.
"Hey, Miss Anderson." His voice is smoky like always.
"Please call me Elizabeth." He nods then takes a seat opposite me.
"Hey, Owen." I smile after he talks.
Olivia places her hand above his as they join a conversation with mum, something I block out, I place my head down and play with my fingers. I don't want to keep looking at his face. Every time I do I get warm and my stomach gets funny tingles.
"So Logan ready to start your classes on Monday?" Mums voice managers to break my barrier as I hear his name.
"I'm looking forward to it, I just wish I had more time to hang out with Olivia." Olivia lets out an 'aww' sound after he speaks.
"That's lovely, son." Keeping her smile she turns to me.
"What about you hun." My eyes flick from Logan's and back to hers."Erm... Yeah, I can't wait." She smiles then changes her focus back to the other two.
She goes on talking to the others my eyes fix on the conversation but mind only fixing to him. His voice is smoky and soft, a voice I can listen to for hours, his eyes brown but beautiful, his skin a pale tanned colour and his lips plump and pink. Urg, I hate myself every day when I see him.
I hate having a crush on my sister's boyfriend.
