•Annie's Pov• Dear Diary, It's me Annie again, let's talk about Christmas and my birthday since I haven't written in here for awhile. So my 14th birthday came around, December 5th and I only had one thing on my wish list which was for Caleb to come back. I told my parents I wanted nothing else, but they said they had to give me at least one present. I gave in but told them I had no clue what they could give me. [BIRTHDAY FLASHBACK] I woke up like it was any regular day, Hayley was by my side. "Happy Birthday, Annie!" She said giving me a hug "Thanks, Hayley" I hugged her back, I haven't smiled since Caleb passed and neither has Hayley. I can't even force myself to fake a smile. We got out of bed and walked downstairs in our pyjamas. "Happy Birthday, my big girl!" my father said as he kissed my head. "Happy Birthday, gorgeous!" my mother said as she hugged me. "Thanks" I hugged them back, as Hayley joined in. "Close your eyes, birthday girl" my mom said and I did as my dad walked me over to the couch and I sat down. "Now open them" my mom smiled as a puppy jumped on my lap, aw she's so cute. "A puppy?! It's so cute" i looked up at them "thank you" "Ahh, look how cute it is" Hayley said as she looked at the puppy and it licked her nose. "Name her, Annie" "Hm.. How about.." I said thinking, as I looked at the brown cavoodle puppy. "Angel?" "I love it!" my parents smiled "Yeah it's cute, Anns" Hayley said as she patted Angel. We spent the whole day playing with Angel. Hayley and I went to bed that night, Angel jumped onto the bed and snuggled up with us. [END OF BIRTHDAY FLASHBACK] ———————————————— [CHRISTMAS FLASHBACK] "Annie, wake up!" Hayley said jumping on my bed. "I'm awake, I'm awake" I yawned, rubbing my eyes. I got up and picked up Angel, she was still sleeping. "Let's check the tree!" Hayley said running down the stairs, as I followed. We were greeted by our parents making breakfast. "Pancakes?" I asked "Yep" my dad said "Where are the presents?" Hayley asked confused "We've made a scavenger hunt" my mom said "Sounds fun, doesn't it Annie?" Hayley said looking at me. I nodded "yeah, I guess" We all sat down at the table, I looked over at the empty chair across from me. That's where Caleb would be sitting if he was here today. I sighed "I'm not ready for this" I grabbed my breakfast and went upstairs, Hayley following behind me, since we don't let each other go off on their own. "You okay? What happened downstairs?" I sighed "Well you know, Caleb used to sit across from me and we haven't sat at the table as a family, since you know... I guess I just lost it" I wiped a tear from my eye. "Yeah, I completely understand, I was feeling teary-eyed myself" I pulled Hayley closer to me and hugged her tightly "I love you, hay" "I love you, Anns" she looked up at me and kissed my cheek and i kissed hers back. "Let's eat" Hayley looked at me and I nodded, cutting up my pancake. Once we both finished, we got changed into leggings, a Christmas shirt, our fluffy jackets and our converses. I brushed my hair and put it in a low ponytail and pulled out two strands of hair. I then put on my fluffy beanie and waited for Hayley to do her hair and put her beanie on. She grabbed my hand and dragged me downstairs "Hi mom, dad" I said "I'm sorry about breakfast this morning" "Don't worry about it, what's bothering you honey?" my mom wrapped her arms around me, comforting me. "It was Caleb's chair, across from me at the dining table" I sighed, thinking about it. "Aw, sweetie. It's okay, your father and I miss him too" she kissed the top of my head. "Girls, shall we start the scavenger hunt?" My father asked with a smile. Hayley and I looked at each other and nodded "yes" I said as I picked up Angel and walked outside. We figured out all of the clues and found our presents. We came back inside and decided to open them. I opened up one of the smaller boxes and it revealed a necklace, it has Caleb's thumb print on it "thank you" I sniffled and put it on "I'm never taking this off" "We're glad you like it" my father smiled. Hayley opened up one of her smaller gifts too and it was a necklace, but hers was a locket. It had a photo of Caleb, Hayley and I. "It's so they're both always with you Hayley" my mom smiled. I was a little jealous of Hayley's gift, don't get me wrong I love my thumby necklace but Hayley can look at that picture whenever she wants too. We continued to open the rest of our gifts. Mom made hot chocolate as we watched Christmas movies. After watching tv for awhile Mom made a Christmas dinner and we decided to eat on the couch. I ate so much food, I don't think I need to eat for 3 weeks. I went upstairs with Hayley once we were done eating "I'm gonna shower, hay" She nodded as I grabbed my pyjamas and went into the bathroom. She grabbed her iPad and followed me in. She turned away so she wasn't facing me as I got undressed. I turned on the shower and put it on warm. I hopped into the shower and washed my body and shaved my legs. I put shampoo and conditioner in my hair and washed it out. I turned off the shower and grabbed a towel, drying myself off. I got changed into my pyjamas and dried my hair until it was damp. "Hayley your turn" she turned off the iPad and handed me my phone I grabbed her pyjamas and walked in as she undressed. She jumped into the bath, she likes to put in lots of bubbles. I waited for Hayley to finish. I went on Instagram for a little while and saw that Jayden posted.

Hayley let the plug out of the bath and dried herself and then got changed. "Time for our teeth" I put toothpaste on my toothbrush and began to brush my teeth as Hayley did the same. I grabbed a washcloth and put it under the water and washed my face, to keep away pimples. We finished our teeth and got into bed. I cuddled up with my Caleb bear and blankie as my parents came up to say goodnight "Goodnight girls, hope you had a good day" they said and kissed us both goodnight. I heard Angel come in and jump into her dog bed at the end of my bed. [END OF CHRISTMAS FLASHBACK] It is now January 29th, I'd love to stay and chat but moms calling us downstairs. Love, Annie. xoxo
