-MXM/YDPP Youngmin And Donghyun
-A happy birthday message...

——

September 17th was a very special day, as Youngmin would say. He had two very special events planned for the younger boy, and was working with the staff to help set one of them up. Since he had to be filmed, he would set up the first part with the staff and their manager, and the other part was a surprise that no one knew about, except for himself.

As he was talking to the camera, telling it about what he was going to do, he knew that it would make Donghyun cry. He continued to explain, the time getting close to when the plan would be executed.

Donghyun was in the practice room, dancing and singing with a smile on his face. A staff walked in and told Donghyun to use the computer she has set something up in. He nodded, sitting in the hair and clicking the video. There, he saw a video of his mother and she started talking.

His smile slowly faltered and tears came to his eyes. His father was next, a couple years leaving his eyes. After that, his twin brother appeared in the screen. All three people were explaining to him to have a good 21st (Korean age) birthday, and how they missed him and hoped he was having fun. They all added their own things to say, making hard tears fall from his eyes. He put his head down in the desk and cried his eyes out.

Youngmin, on the other hand, walked in with a small cake. He knew Donghyun would cry, as it is his first birthday completely away from his blood related family. He knew they weren't really 'sad' tears to say, but they also weren't exactly 'happy' tears. He figured it would happen, as Donghyun was an emotional and sensitive person.

Him and their manager plus some staff were finished singing happy birthday to him, and he still hadn't lifted his head from the desk. Youngmin felt his heart pang and he carefully pat the younger boys back.

"Donghyun! Happy birthday." He said, smiling at the boy. He knew the two probably looked awkward on screen, but he didn't care much for it. He set the cake on the desk and tried to bring Donghyun's head up. He repeated his happy birthday wish and pat Donghyun's shoulder this time. He watched the younger carefully pat his own tears away and cover his red, tired face.

"I got your favorite cake." He said, trying to cheer the, now slightly gloomy, boy up. Donghyun gave a half hearted smile and nodded his head.

"T-thank you." His voice came out small, cracking ever so slightly. It took everything in Youngmin's body not to squeeze Donghyun in his arms and tell him it would be okay. He understood that it was hard for the younger to spend this time away from his family, especially because it is such a special age to turn.

Youngmin glanced at the cameraman, who was zoomed in on the cake. The cameraman looked at him and nodded, understanding the silent words he was spoken too. He turned the camera off, walking out of the room.

"I think you two should go spend some time together or alone at your dorm. Take the rest of the day off. Happy birthday Donghyun!" Their manager said, smiling sympathetically at Donghyun and patting him lightly as to let him know it would be alright. He nodded, standing up. A staff came over and put the cake back in the box before handing it to Youngmin with a nod. They both quickly gathered their small amount of belongings and headed to their dorm, a short distance away.

Both boys had masks on, Donghyun trying to cover up his red face, and the more tears that would not seem to stop. Youngmin has an arm around him, quickly trying to get them to their dorm. Once the made it, both of them took their shoes off, Donghyun taking his mask and hat off as well as Youngmin taking his mask off. The younger of the two quickly took off into the living room, walking down the hall to his room.
