Chapter 16: Rescue Part 1 (Venom)

We both watched Xiaohui as she read the journal to see if her expression changed. She suddenly closed the journal and handed it back to us.

"We need to go to Dr.Perkins' building," she said. "Now."

"If we go like this we won't get there in time," I said. "Let me take care of it."

"I know a faster way to get to there," Eddie said. "We need to get on the roof first."

"Alright," she said, looking a little confused.

We climbed out of the window and went up the stairs onto the roof. The moment we got on the roof I suddenly took over Eddie's body and Xiaohui looked at us in shock.

"W-What the hell are you?" she asked.

"No time," I growled. "We need to go now."

I swiftly grabbed her and threw her over my shoulder then began jumping from building to building. She was freaking out a little but it wasn't as much when Naomi was freaking out. Eventually I landed in an alleyway that wasn't too far from Dr.Perkins' building. I set Xiaohui down then I went back inside Eddie as she stared at us in shock.

"Call him Venom," he said. "Now we need to get in that building."

She nods and we quickly left the alleyway then made our way to the building. We entered the building and it was strangely quiet.

"Something's not right," I said.

"No sh*t," Eddie muttered.

"Wait where the hell did she go?" I asked.

"She's right.." he began but when he looked around Xiaohui was nowhere in sight. "...here."

"Let's just try to get to that lab," I said.

"We'll have to take the elevator," he said. "Climbing up the side of the building and breaking through a window will cause too much attention."

"Fine," I growled.

We walked over to the elevator and went inside. There was a button that wasn't labeled like the others so Eddie pushed it. As soon as the elevator went up several floors it suddenly came to a sudden halt.

"Stay back," I said.

Eddie backed away from the door and once it slid open we see about five guards pointing their guns at us. Before I could get a chance to come out they were suddenly blown away into a wall. They fell to the ground unconscious and we stepped out to feel someone tap our shoulder. Eddie turned around to see Xiaohui wearing some sort of armor.

"Sorry I had to ditch ya like that," she said. "I had to change into something more fitting for this event."

"Just tell us next time," Eddie said.

"Let's save this for another time and save your friend," she said. "The lab is just two floors up so we need to take the stairs."

We rushed to the stairwell only to be confronted by two more guards. Xiaohui punched the air in front of her and it caused the guards to fly into the wall. They fell to the ground and we quickly went inside the stairwell and began going up. By the time we went up two floors we come across a door that didn't look like the others. Eddie quietly opened the door and when we walked in we started hearing a clicking sound.

"What the hell is that sound?" I growled. "It's annoying me."

"Someone's here," Eddie mumbled.

We started walking around until we came across someone sitting at a desk and they were clicking a pen. Once he saw us he stopped then he stood up with a grin on his face.

"You must be Venom," he said.

"Technically no," Eddie said. "But I can guess that you're that sh*thead Dr.Perkins."

"You guessed right," he said. "If you're not Venom then who are you?"

"Like hell I would tell you my name!" he said angrily.

"You have someone that doesn't belong to you," Xiaohui said.

"Ah yes, my little experiment," he said with a grin. "Well if you want her back then you can have her."

We looked at him with a confused look as he back up a little. Suddenly we heard something pounding on the ceiling and we looked up to see some cracks begin to found. As the pounding continued we started to back away a bit. After one strong hit the cracked ceiling collapsed. Something emerged from the rubble and we could not believe who it was.
