Dark was smiling.

"Come here (y/n)." He said. You walked over. He held out a key. You wanted to grab it, reaching your hand out to grab it, but your stopped yourself, putting your hand down.

"I don't understand." You said. His smile got a bit bigger, almost warmer and put both his hands behind his back.

"I was thinking about your request last night over dinner and when I retired to my room. I heard you crying. I'm ashamed to admit this, but that hurt me, so I came up with an idea. You know the fence just outside?" He asked. You nodded, afraid that if you talked, he would take this away.

"Well, it runs around my entire property. It's not big enough that you would get lost, but not small enough that you would get bored. You have done everything I asked you so far. You haven't tried to leave or escape, you have even been helping me with my work and have meals with me every day so as a reward, I have granted your request, but with some rules." He said. You wanted to cry out of happiness. He was letting you out. Outside! You would take any rules, even if it was just sitting out on the steps.

"Want rules, I will do anything!" You practically shouted out in happiness. Dark laughed a bit before his smiled faded.

"If you step foot outside of my property, This, and every type of freedom I allowed you to have will be taken away. I will know if you do set out and I will get you, Do I make myself clear?" He asked. You looked at him right in the eyes.

"Dark, your letting me go outside. I won't try to leave. I promise you." you said, never breaking eye contact. Dark smiled and brought out the key again.

"Take it. It will unlock the door and you are free to go out at any time, but please let me know if you plan to at night." He said. You took it and hugged Dark.

"Thank you." You whispered. You felt his arms hug you back before letting you go. You looked at the key, then the door, then at Dark. He just nodded with a smile. You looked to the door, putting the key in and unlocked the door. Once you turned the nob, you felt the wind. You smiled, running out and felt the sun on your face.

You ran around until your lungs felt like fire. You then laid in the grass, staring at the cloud filled sky. You had missed this. You then stood and ran again but this time to the back of the house. You saw the forest, but the fence stopped you for entering it. That was ok, you got the outside, you didn't want to push it or ask for anything else. This was the best thing he could have giving you. You slowed to a walk and started to look around. Dark wasn't lying.

His property was huge. You had circled the property about ten times now, taking in everything. You saw that a tree was right next to the fence and provided plenty of shade, a place you thought would be a good nap spot for later days. You ran and sat under it, leaning on the fence. You hoped leaning or touching the fence was ok, but you didn't see Dark coming out so you though it was. You would ask later, just in case. The wind picked up and you closed your eyes as it hit you. You opened them after it stop, and you stood, walking to the front door, walking in and locked the door. The sun was still in the sky, but you had some questions for Dark.

"(y/n)?" You heard Dark ask in confusion from the study. You walked in and sat down. He was staring at you.

"You're in already? You were only out there four hours. I thought I would have to come get you for dinner." Dark said. You laughed a bit.

"I just had some questions." You said. He nodded, looking back at the request he was reading.

"Ask away." He said. you smiled, knowing he had work to do so you didn't think he was being rude.

"I found a tree just outside of your property. I was leaning on the fence and I was just hoping that was ok. I don't want to do anything I'm not allowed to. Is it ok?" You asked. He had stopped reading the paper and turned to face you.

"(y/n), that is not leaving my property. You may lean and touch the fence. By leaving, I mean if your whole body leaves the property without my approval." He said. You nodded.

"Thank you. My second and final question is this. Dark, would you like to go on a nightly walk with me after dinner? It's something I always did with my father." You said. Dark smiled at you before returning to the request.

"I would love to." He said. You smiled, standing and hugged him. He just laughed and patted your arm.

"I have to work, go have fun outside. I will get you later for dinner." He said. You nodded and ran out.

It was the best day ever. Later the night, you both walked around the property three times. You mainly talked about your memories with your dad but Dark never said anything in disapproval. He just smiled at you in the moon light. You both entered the house once you started to yawn. You both walked up the stairs.

"Goodnight (y/n)." Dark said, but inset of kissing your hand, he leaned in and kissed your cheek before going into his room. You blushed, cupping the cheek he had kissed before walking into your room.
